this guitar absolutley rocks! if your into led zeppelin or rush's later stuff, you gotta check this out. you can be the guitar hero you always wanted. there is only one guitar for players who idolise jimmy page on a limited budget, and this is it. re-live all those classic performances of stairway, out the guitar up on your chest for the riff before the solo, jump about at the heavy power-chord rock and roll.this guitar is the way to go if you have a passion for rock and roll that can't be satisfied by a mere one-neck rocker. the 2 guitars in one make it ideal for those live performances where you switch styles from heavy rock and roll to the folk, chordy songs(much like jimmy page did). the pickups give off a fat, raunchy tone on the rhythm setting, and a clear bright tone for the treble. turn them up full for a sweet, slightly overdriven sound that is perfect for all those die-hard zeppelin fans out there that lust for the tone used in classic songs like black dog, and of course, the legendary guitar solo in stairway. trust me, this guitar absolutly kicks ass
From early British-beat classics, to rock-opera grandiosity, to “loudest band in the world” status, the Who have made an off-the-charts contribution to rock music, and guitarist and chief songwriter Pete Townshend made an enormous sonic impact with simple tools and a very basic—if undeniably inspired and energetic—technique.
An American called Dr. Ricky Fromus, from Ohio, thinks so, and set out to scientifically prove it. Gibson Backstage Pass reported the results, and now we bring them to you!
It’s hardly surprising that many of rock’s most legendary guitarists have plied their craft on a Gibson SG. With its warm sustain, silky fretboard, and sharp cutaways, the SG is conducive to all types of playing—from searing solos to chunky rhythms to sinewy leads. Moreover, the SG’s sleek, lightweight design and striking beauty makes it a much-favored instrument for live performance.
