M-Audio Midisport 8x8s

Competitively priced & a fast service, Dolphinmusic delivered the following day. I live very locally though, so that certainly works in my favour. Anyway, the 8x8s USB installed fine on WinXP Home, even though the 8x8s isn't Plug & Play. M-Audio's installation procedure is a bit quirky in that respect. The 8x8s is much easier to install, though, on XP than my old Opcode 8portSE was on Win95/98! There are no conflicts with other hardware. I didn't have to pull out my soundcard first! Other reviews I've seen online have occasionally given this product a bit of a bashing, but at this price for an 8x8 fully matrixed MIDI i/o, I can't complain & it worked fine for me. I havn't tested the SMPTE though as I don't use analogue tape. I suspect other people's setups may be running older versions of Windows & this may possibly be their problem. I'll continue buying from Dolphin if they keep up this level of cheap prices & fast delivery. Thanks for a very useful product.
