Good cheap headphones. I use them for recording, which they work well for as they provide a decent sound with very little bleed. I also use them for personal listening, and they work well, certainly better than most in ear earphones of about twice the price. Well worth £15.

Grabbed a pair of these for use in my home studio setup after reading a lot of great reviews. I have to say I\'m not disappointed in the least. I don\'t have a lot of experience of high end phones so I don\'t really have a benchmark to compare against but they do everything I want of them admirably.

Linked into a Mackie Onyx Satellite they cope with even the most complex arrangements I throw at them, each individual instrument coming through clearly and precisely. On old and favourite recordings I\'m hearing things I never knew were there before. For use in the studio I really can\'t fault them, for casual listening they are surprisingly pleasant though a touch too analytical for my liking.

Build quality seems good though the cable seems a little flimsy to me. For all you big headed types like me who have problems getting headphones and the like to fit, these are a godsend. they fit great, are comfortable to use for extended periods and do a reasonable job of insulating you from background noise.

Oh, and then we come to the price. If I\'d paid five times the price I\'d still have been happy. If you had told me they cost ten times as much I\'d have believed it. Get a set of these headphones - at this price you can\'t afford not to.

Best bargain headphone. By a long shot.

These things cost £14. So they should sound like they cost £14. In the music industry, you get what you pay for. Not so with Sennheiser. I use MANY headphones. AKG, Beyer DT100s, Beyer DT150s, Sennheiser HD25s, Vic Firth drum headphones etc and the HD201s are as good as most and better than some. I have also recently bought the Sennheiser HD215's, and they seem to have a better frequency response than the 201s but for 14 quid you seriously can't go wrong.

Whatever you do, don't go spending £70-odd on a pair of DT100s. They aren't worth the bother when these are £14.
Sennheiser. I've yet to find any bad product made by them. I use their mic's, their IEM systems, their headphones, and their wireless audio systems. And not one has let me down.

Absolutely stunning quality for the price. How do they do it? Hard to justify spending more when this quality is available at such a low price. Particuarly impressed with the low freuency response

Bought these after reading the above reviews but I don't think they're very accurate.

Bass is very very light, using EQ rectify this saw them distort very quickly using a number of sources- iPod with rockbox, macbook laptop, yamaha bx500 hifi amp.

Highs are fairly tinny, accentuated by the lack of low end and general headroom and volume.

Saying that- playing bass guitar through a pandora px4d sounds tonally excellent but seriously lacks in headroom.

I shall probably upgrade these next month to the HD215 - now these are excellent, my keyboard player has them in his recording studio and they are fantastic.

Nice cheap headphones with good high's and mid's. Bass is a bit quiet and headphones aren't loud enough themselves. They are grand for Hi-Fi listening, but if you look into DJ'ing seriously it's probably worth to invest more.

Now I thought they were AKG K601's!

Outstanding... for such a bargain price it Sennheiser have out done even M-Audio on value for money.

The build quality was good, nothing amazing, I mean, look at the price tag.

Gold plated contacts, great, and a mini to 6.3 adapter too, nice.

Pretty confortable to wear, not as good as my AKG K601's, (I paid £160 for), but you can expect that.

SOUND QUALITY, when I first put these on I was extremely disappointed... becuase they sounded very nearly as good as my K601's... (£160 professional referencing headphones). I was disapponted becuase I spent all that on the AKG's and the sound quality is near matched on both these headphones, (maybe your headphone amp plays a large part here...? I have a VERY good headphone amp too).

I haven't had a chance to study tonal balance differences, so using them for headphone based mastering may or may not be an option.

The quality was outstanding though, for such a fantastic price.

Bottom line is, they say that 'you get what you pay for'. But NOT in this case... oh no... 'you get MUCH MORE for what you pay for' here.

Sound quality is of course subjective, but for those of you with a love of music, and a restricted pocket, these are probably the best value headphones on the market. They almost warrant that quirky of all terms "dynamic", so long as your source is up to scratch. For home use, they are perect - comfortable, decent length of cable, and substantial: how often have you walked around the house wearing headphones and caught the cable on a door-handle? These will last the course, and even come with a 2 year warranty.
Plug them into your amp, turn up the sound, and they start to sing, wihtoiut being too bassy (few headphones produce base sounds well, and poor bass is worse than no bass!). The most important factor is that you can listen to music for an hour or longer without getting a serious headache - they aren't so accurate as to become painful, rather they are relatively musical, which is what all true audiophiles should be searching for.
Just don't expect them to pump out high volumes from your mp3 player, as they were obviously not designed for this (try the Sennheiser PX100s).
In conclusion, £15 bargains like this rarely justify their price tags - have Sennheiser got the price wrong? If so, take advantage......

Good clarity and tonal features.
We use them with many volunteers and they have superb handling and are very durable.
They do come with an adapter - but they always go missing, so buy spares!
