The VL70-m Virtual Acoustic Tone Generator is a compact, low-cost addition to Yamaha’s expanding line of Virtual Acoustic Synthesis instruments, which gives electronic musicians the flexibility and range for greater personal musical expression.  The most musical tone generation system ever created, VA Synthesis is as versatile and easy to use from a keyboard as from a Wind MIDI Controller or a Guitar MIDI Converter.

Unlimited sound creation and solo performance potential

The consummate solo electronic musical instrument, the VL70-m uses Yamaha’s unique VA Synthesis—sophisticated computer-based “physical modeling” technology which accurately simulates the complex vibrations, resonances, reflections and other acoustic phenomena that occur in a real wind or string instrument—to produce very high quality monophonic voices.
A built-in effects section with independent Reverb, Chorus, Variation and Distortion effects, plus versatile editing features and more give the VL70-m unlimited sound creation and performance potential. 

Versatile and compatible

The VL70-m is designed from the ground up for maximum versatility through compatibility with various types of external devices. A WX IN jack lets you connect a Yamaha WX-series Wind MIDI Controller such as the WX11. The “VL Extension for XG” feature significantly enhances and expands the musical capabilities of the XG format with the superior sound and expressive potential of VA Synthesis. A TO HOST connector lets you connect a personal computer for editing, sequencing and other music applications—without the need for a separate MIDI interface.
