Well, I got a pair of these babies from here for Christmas and I have to say, they're the bees knees of earphones. Before buying or listening to these, the only type of earphones that I had experimented with where ya common cheap ones. But from the first time I listened to these a'tell ya you'll never want to go back to normal crappy earphones again. Everything about these is the bomb, bass response, treble, crispness and clarity. You can hear every neuonce of every instrument...breath taking. Another sign of sheer quality is the fact that you can ear the artist breath in between singing; especially Elton John.
If you're prepared to part with the best of £100 then you wont be disapointed due to the fact that they're well worth it. PEACE OUT !!!

Really excellent product. Would have given 10/10 but for the slight inconvenience of not being able to hear the doorbell etc. when wearing them; also you can't just whip them out to answer your mobile etc., they take a bit of 'teasing' for comfortable removal. Otherwise, sound quality is better than anything else you're likely to find at this price and isolation is good (though not total). For best isolation use the foam plugs; personally I also find them the most comfy.
It's a lot of money to spend if (like me) you're not a pro musician; on the other hand there are savings -- e.g. on battery life of any iPod/MP3 player. I used to have my iPod volume virtually on full; now I can't go beyond halfway and around 30% volume is ample for most music. Also I don't need to use the EQ facility, which also eats battery power. And as you don't have to blast the volume to comete with ambient sounds it's also better for your ears!
One further tip: the cable goes behind the tops of your ears, so let it hang down your back rather than over the shoulder. The extra weight and reduced movement will stop the cable slipping over your ears and dragging on the plugs (particularly if you have small ears).
Shure Sound Isolating Earphones are ideally suited for use with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as any listening device with a 3.5 mm (1/8-inch) stereo jack. The 1/4\" to 1/8\" adapter included with the E4c and E5c also enables you to connect to sources with 1/4\" jacks, such as home audio receivers. Plug them into your favorite listening device, or bring them with you when you fly. The result will be the same - an outstanding audio experience, wherever your music takes you. To enjoy the superior sound isolation and the rich, studio-quality sound of the E Series, it is important to fit your earphones properly into your ears. We recommend taking some time to experiment with your Personal Fit Kit to find out what works best for you.
