You’ve put together an extensive digital music collection in iTunes and arranged it into playlists to suit your every mood. Now you want to enjoy it in your living room on your home stereo, not just in the den, where your computer sits. You can, thanks to AirPort Express with AirTunes.

Plug. Play. Rock out. AirTunes takes the music from the iTunes library on your computer and sends it wirelessly to any stereo or speakers in your home. All you have to do is plug an AirPort Express into an electrical outlet near those speakers, then connect them with an audio cable.
In iTunes, you can choose which speakers you want your music to play on — in your den, living room, or bedroom. If you have more than one AirPort Express connected to speakers, you can play the same music on all your speakers at the same time to create a whole-house musical experience.

Party Central. If you already have a wireless network in place, you can use AirPort Express to add music to its capabilities. Let’s say, for example, you have AirPort Extreme set up in your den. There’s no need to scrap this setup and create a whole new network. Simply connect AirPort Express to your stereo in your favorite music room and plug it into an electrical outlet — it wirelessly links to your existing network, letting you play your music in your room of choice without moving anything or connecting anything else.

EASY SETUP:

After installing AirPort Utility from the CD included with AirPort Express, you’re just a few short steps away from creating the ultimate Wi-Fi environment. For Mac users, AirPort Utility is located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. And Windows users access AirPort Utility by selecting Start > All Programs > AirPort.

Creating a wireless network AirPort Express makes creating a wireless network as easy as finding the closest electrical outlet. Connect your DSL or cable modem to the Ethernet port on your AirPort Express. Open AirPort Utility, select your AirPort Express, and click Continue. Follow the onscreen instructions to create your new network.

Setting up AirTunes Take your iTunes library beyond your computer with AirPort Express and AirTunes. Connect your AirPort Express to your home stereo or powered speakers. Plug AirPort Express into an electrical outlet. Open AirPort Utility, select your AirPort Express, and click Continue. Follow the onscreen instructions. Open iTunes and choose your stereo or speakers from the pop-up menu in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.

Connecting a printer Connect a printer to the AirPort Express USB port and access it remotely. Mac OS X Windows To print using Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4 Open Printer Setup Utility (located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder). Select the printer from the list. To print using Mac OS X v10.5 Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Print & Fax. Click Add (+) and select your printer from the list. Click the Add button.
