Make your 6-string guitar sound like a 12-string. Make your 4-string bass sound like an 8-string. Super fast tracking with glitch free polyphony. Makes a great bass using the sub octave. Polyphonic tone in a small die-cast XO enclosure.
This little gem of a pedal is getting increasingly popular. This is basically a simpler, more affordable version of the Electro-Harmonix POG, which is used by guitarists such as Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Jack White (White Stripes). And, indeed, you are able to use the Micro POG to achieve sounds similar of those heard in White Stripes tracks such as "Black Orchid" or "I'm Slowly Turning Into You".
But the Micro POG is capable of much, much more...watch this demo video on You Tube to get a better idea of all that this little pedal is capable of...

OK, lets remember what this does. The EHX Micro POG (Polyphonic Octave Generator) digitally adds an octave below and an octave above your original signal. Thats it.
The thing is how well it does it. There is nothing I hate about this pedal. I could happily leave it permanently switched on at lower blend settings just to make my tone HUGE! This is great if you are in a one guitar rock/metal band.
Tracking is pretty much flawless, just go easy with that top octave as too much of this blended in with make your sound synthetic, introducing the \'Chipmunks\' style fluttering associated with extreme digital real time pitch shifting.
The sub octave is pure joy...:-) Makes my Whammy 4 sound very semi-pro...
True bypass lives here and construction is top notch.
My first unit had a faulty switch but I was blown away by how Dolphin handled my return. I emailed at 7.30 in the morning, they replied at 9AM by phone and then sent out a brand new unit which I had the next day.
AWESOME service, thank you Dolphin!
Buy this unit, it\'s truly inspiring!
Here's a look at the evolution of Jack White's pedalboards...from the red White Stripes one, to his unique "bronze" pedalboard with the Raconteurs and finally The Dead Weather...check them out!!!
Guitarist Bill Ruppert developed a new You Tube series where he shows how to produce "impossible" sounds using just a regular guitar and EHX effect pedals. Check it out!
BoingBoing took a trip to Long Island and shot a video showing the Electro-Harmonix factory. Watch it here!
This version of the now classic Polyphonic Octave Generator forgoes an octet of fiddly sliders of the original in favour of three simple pots. Read Review.
Big Muff, Polychorus, Holy Grail, Deluxe Memory Man...the list of great pedals Electro-Harmonix created is enourmous, and over the years they have played an essential role in shaping the sound of many famous guitarists. Electro-Harmonix still continues to deliver the goods and their new pedals will certainly become firm favourites as well.
