I bought this because I wanted something small that I could just \'plug-n-play\'. I did have a Vox amplug on my list but decided on this because of the masses of tones available, I was not disappointed! This thing rocks. It sounds so much better than most small practice amps I have herd. Plus if you have a descent pair of earphones you can really rockout in the middle of the night and know one will know!! Also, this pod works a treat if you are recording your self using your laptop/pc. I only give it 9 stars because or two things;

1) It has no battery warning light so when your batteries fail it sends a nice load \'crack\' into your earphones as it dies.

2) There is no 9V mains charger included. Although generic multi voltage chargers are available all over the place.

Best £70 I have spent in a long time.

Has some great sounds for a very good price. The tuner is useful and works well. The manual is a bit basic and even the reference manual doesn\'t list the built in presets. Also, the sounds you can download from the Line 6 web site contain loads of duplicates and a lot of rubbish.

However, if you spend the time to experiment with the settings, maybe using one of the presets as a starting point, it gives some great sounds for an amazing price.

I have seen this wonderful thing work in my hands. It is fantastic!!!! Really Fantastic!!! Very compact, versatile but the things in it are really big and very vast. A qoute to describe it is: "Small on the inside but big on the outside"

I bought this for my husband as a Christmas present - he absolutely loves it! He finds it much easier to use than a similar product he has. He particularly likes the fact that you can download other settings as well. He is by no means an expert on the guitar but he was able to get some great sounds going with this compact gadget. Highly recommended.

Just great fun to play with and sounds fantastic with headphones and CD coming through at once. Distortions can be as light or massive as you please with enough effects to make you sound better than you actually are!!! OK its not as flexable as other multi effect units but its not meant to be all singing all dancing. Out of all my fx units it sounds the best through my old valve head , better than zoom or black box gear at half the price. Get santa to sort one out for you , plus the missus will be happy with a quiet moment or two. Brilliant bit of kit!! .. only downer it eats batteries for breakfast , get a power supply asap... oh and it falls / rolls off wherever you put it as its so light , on board clip or gaffer to the rescue...

Fulfilled it's purpose perfectly for me which was to allow me to play guitar in the lounge without the wife complaining, or waking my child upstairs.

Pros: It's smooth and shiny. A good selection of sounds. Grouping them under songs/bands is a nice touch.

Cons: Sometimes a bit annoying using the controls to get to the sound you want, would have preferred a switch bank like my xt live. Although it remembers your sound when you switch it off and back on, it doesn't remember where in the list you were when you found it.

All in all for the price it's very good, personally I would like to see a smaller flatter version, I'm thinking ipod style rather than kidney bean, bank buttons and the inputs at the bottom rather than the top. A hard disk and record feature would then top it all off, but then there is already a product like that out there, and it costs slightly more money.

I bought this unit based on the review in Guitartist magazine. In their words, "for the price it's a no-brainer" and they are absolutely spot on.

The Line 6 Pocket Pod has a fantastic range of effects and amp models avaialable which an array of presets which can all be tweaked to suit your need.

I found the stylye by Song very useful as a starting point for creating my own sounds but the Pod also cayters for those who would star purley with the amp. I love the idea of having a VOX AC30 in the plam of your hand.

The Pocket Pod is an intuitive devce and a dream to use. After 20 minutes of using the unit I was able to creat, copy stor and rename my own sounds. I would have been quicker but I just hand to sample each sound first and got carried away.

I have also put the Pod to the test with using Cubase and the results have been amazing.

For home use, practise and home recording it's the best thing I've ever purchased. I would thhink twice before using on stage but only becase the controls will not allow for quick acees but if you are slick enough you could build up your live set in opne of the user definebale storgae banks and by tat method you need only hit the directional pad once.

The Line 6 Pocket POd is great fun to use and should form patrt of every guitar players kit bag.
