The M3 is the first in a new series of microphones designed to make high quality recording and performance accessible to a wider audience by offering the brand’s premium characteristics at an even more affordable price point. The M3 is yet another example of Røde’s continued commitment to engineering excellence, innovation and world class product design, and comes with a 10yr-warranty for total peace of mind.

Designed with versatility in mind, the M3 is a cardioid condenser design that can be powered either by standard 48V phantom power or by an internal 9V PP3 battery – making it suitable for an incredibly wide range of applications including live performance, studio recording, location work and field reporting. Flexibility is further enhanced by the inclusion of a switchable 80Hz low cut filter and a three-position pad switch providing 0dB, 10dB or 20dB of attenuation. Low self-noise, wide dynamic range and low handling noise make the M3 ideally suited to both vocal and instrument recording.

Røde durability comes as standard in the form of an internally shock-mounted ¾” capsule, rugged metal body construction and heat treated high-strength mesh head, and the M3 is supplied ready-to-go with a heavy-duty flight case, foam windshield and sturdy microphone clip.

Some time ago i bought a supposed good pick up for acoustic guitar to use for my 12string acoustic guitar or on my mandolin. The sound on it was crap!!too much electrified and distorted and the beautiful acoustics of my 12string were totally wasted. When i read the reviews of the rode M3 i decided to give it a go.Already bought the rode NT1A from dolphin months ago and i was happy with it so this one should keep up with the companys quality i thought.Delivery from Dolphin took only 2 days to my home door in CYPRUS safely with UPS,NOW i bought many music instruments from USA and europe and i rate dolphin as the best delivery so far, thanks guys.
I believe if u r happy from a shop u should let people know bout it.
Anyway i set up my pa and tried the mic on my 12string and my mandolin and then on vocals.I cant praise enought about it!!!!All the beautyfull sound of my 12string filled up the space so naturally, same on the mandolin.I was even so impressed on vocals.I though this mic is a joker!!!any compination with it is a winner.
i think every giging musician should have one M3 as a back up for any situation.Consider it as a mic for any job,mic ing instruments live, vocals, recording

I just bought the Rode M3 to use live on stage & also for studio application for vocals, flute & sax. I\'ve used so many different type of Mics over the last 20 years, from Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, Beyer and many others but I was still unhappy with all my purchases and always in search of something better. Then I found the Rode M3 and WOW, I\'ve found the Mic that provides everything I need for a fraction of the cost. The most outstanding features I found compared to the dynamic Mics are: that it captures the full frequency range of everything that I used it for from Vocals to instruments. The high out level is so much higher than the dynamic Mics, in fact it gives at least another 9 dB more output level than any other Mics that I\'ve used in the past. All the highs are so present but smooth and not harsh and the lows go way below the 20 Hz mark. Features like the dual powered capability, the On/Off filter switch and the PAD switch are all such important options that I don\'t get with any dynamic Mics that I owned or used in the past. I don\'t normally write reviews but after purchasing & using the Rode M3, I feel so compelled to say to other Mic uses, hey, this is the best Mic I\'ve ever owned.. Just check it out, you\'ll definitely be impressed like me. I\'ll never use another dynamic Mic again for stage use. I\'m so glad I gave this Rode M3 a go.. I tested the Rode on a very modest sound system but it sounded unbelievable. I\'m a very happy musician. Andrew Oh

For one of the best all-round mics, look no further than this fine microphone. It sounds amazing on guitars, vocals, pianos, drums...the list goes on. At £75 (Dolphin\'s price was the best I could find), this is one mic every home studio should have. For the beginner engineer on a tight budget, one of these for all close-miking work and a large diaphragm stereo pair from the AKG Perception range, Rode\'s own NT1-As or even Behringer C range (read my reviews of the C3) would make a great starting place. Add a Tascam US-122/144 and you would have one great home studio that was also suitable for the road.

My wife loves the way the M3 records her voice and flute and I am particularly impressed (like I was with the NT1-As) with the \"class-leading\" low noise level. For instances when mixer phantom power is unavailable, the M3 can use a 9V battery.

I think that this one microphone might very well permanently find top spot in my home studio.
