1. Spin Doctor is compatible with the hundreds of Control Freak profiles that are available for download free from the Kenton website http://www.kentonuk.com.  This means that Spin Doctor already supports an extremely wide range of MIDI hardware and software without any need for programming, and the profile set is frequently updated with profiles for new devices.

Spin Doctor is fully programmable via the free software editor, and it can send every type of MIDI message, including freely assignable System Exclusive, making it possible to control hardware synths and modules as well as software applications.  Certain other controllers may make the point that they can transmit ‘pre-programmed Sys-Ex messages’, but the SysEx messages they can actually send are very restricted and do not allow for in-depth control of MIDI hardware.
