As if music in the ’50s wasn’t ground-breaking enough, the ’60s proved even more adventurous. Fender’s Limited Edition Series ’60s Custom Telecaster with Bigsby brings that second golden age back. Features include an alder body with bound top and back and a three-ply white pickguard, a maple neck with 7.25”-radius, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, an adjustable six-saddle Telecaster bridge with Bigsby “F” vibrato tailpiece, a pair of vintage style Telecaster single-coil pickups with three-position switching, chrome hardware, and Fender/Ping® vintage-style tuning machines.

I have had this guitar now for a little over 2 months, and have used it a lot since buying it new. Japanese models are renowned to be well made, but I think that the workmanship with the bigsby tremolo has a couple of issues. I have had to find some metric measured bridge height screws (as 2 have fallen out in my short tenure!)and trying to get replacements has been somewhat difficult. You will need to ensure these are snuggly screwed in, without compromising your action too much. Apart from this, the guitar shines. I\'ve got the Candy Apple red and the paintjob is quite immaculate - particularly with the bound edges framing it. The pickups sound raw and aggressive for tele pickups, and the bigsby gives it real soul. Whether you\'re playing 50s rockabilly or White Lies esque tunes, you\'ll love it - despite the constant checking of bridge height screws.
I recommend, if only a slight tinge of disappointment with such a seemingly simple problem unresolved - particularly for the cash spent...

How did the guitar become the world's favourite instrument?
