As a small project studio musician my criteria for new acquisitions are clear.

Must fit into my ever decreasing home studio space.
I had used the MSP3's larger brother the MSP 10 in another studio. Very nice they were indeed but not really suitable for my "cottage" set up.
My faith in Yamaha's pedigree has not let me down on choosing MSP3's as near field monitors.
Stright out of the box and coupled to my MBox I was impressed. Great treble response across a wide range coupled with suprisingly good bass response from such a small beast. The rotary controls at the foot of the woofer are easily accessible and positive to operate and do "exactly as they say on the label".
These, for me, give me exactly what I want in near field monitoring. A crisp, no fuss picture of what I'm working on.
I guess that this now leaves me wondering about my other (aging)monitors that I use to "amaze" my nearest neighbours with "big listens".
My experience of Yamaha has been excellent and Dolphin's service is, as always, second to none.
I'll be back (soon).
