M Audio UNO USB

Chris Tarrant (January 10, 2008)
Rating: 8/10

OK so I decided to get myself a reasonable soundcard, and then discovered that there were no midi ports.
Time to visit Dolphin, and that's where I discovered this little gem.
Now I can plug the midi keyboard into the front of my pc, instead of fiddling around in the spaghetti at the back, and have instant access to my beloved software.
Not only that, but I can now use the laptop to input my midi data, instead of having to laboriously key in the notation.
A brilliant idea for a brilliant piece of kit, and well worth it's modest price.

Works fine with GarageBand

David Sansom (January 5, 2008)
Rating: 9/10

I bought this to allow me to connect my P30 keyboard to my MacBook (running Leopard) to use with GarageBand. Very simple to use, just plug it in - no drivers required - and you can play software instruments on your keyboard.

I did have a bit of confusion to start with but that was me being dim!

Only odd thing is the sound levels come out a bit low (in GarageBand) which I haven't been able to sort out yet. Not sure if it's due to the MIDI-USB interface or GarageBand that's the problem.
