Home setup I use the Akg 81dj's - the DT770 Pro are the current Bass Daddy's, these fit and sound a lot better than the 81dj's!
If you want low bass with punch purchase these - you wont be disappointed.
For people interested in using them with a PVP they run fine on my Cowon D2, but some may wish to Amp them. The 770's are very loud and could probably do with a touch of eq on the treble, but then I normally use SE530's with my D2.
A bargain can for bassheads anywhere.

I bought these to replace an old pair of cheap headphones and am just blown away.
I mostly use them with a Line 6 Pod XT and iPod nano (1G) and I'm hearing familiar recordings in a whole new way. (Rage Against The Machine never sounded so fresh!)
One downside is that they can be very unforgiving with poorly recorded or encoded material, revealing every click and flaw. It's especially easy to hear the difference between lossless and MP3s under 256kbps for example.
With high quality recordings, however, these 'phones are the business.
Pros:
- sound reproduction is astonishingly clear and vivid
- wide sound stage
- bass is deep and resonant without being overpowering.
- reduction in ambient background noise
- light and extremely comfortable to wear; easy to forget you have them on!
- top quality construction
- great out-of-the-box (apparently Beyerdynamic run their top level 'phones in at the factory)
Cons:
- lack sparkle with classical music
- reveal flaws in poor recordings and encodings
To sum up, I'd recommend these without hesitation. They're excellent value for money considering the remarkable sound quality. Anyone listening to their music collection with stock earbuds really should give these a try and hear how music should sound.

These are great headphones.I am an audiophile so faithful music reproduction is an absolute must for me as i have tried loads of closed back cans with wide frequency response's but a lot of them leak noise from the outside world which i do not like as i need to hear everything from the source. The only critiscism (which is only a minor one)is that the bass and treble can out weigh the midrange but i listen to a lot of musical scores which tend to be classical from John Williams and Hans Zimmer etc but with electronic and rock music these really shine.Comfort is excellent due to the large soft earpads you forget that you're wearing them and they are sort of breathable i guess whith not using a leatherette material so youre ears do't get hot and sweaty. At this price i dont think they can be beaten so thankyou Dolphin Music and thankyou Beyer these are superb.

Oops...
In my last review i mention i got some Hd210's for my self at £14 aswell as the Dt770's for my clients.
This was a mistake.. I got the HD201's for myself, not the 210's. Great phones for the price.

Im a hypnotherapist and needed some great 'cans' for my clients to wear during sessions. The requirements were, decent noise attenuation, Very comfortable, not too heavy, excellent sound (well balanced without and silly boosts along the frequency spectrum), and althought closed phones were required, I needed a 'non-claustrophobic' open sound to them..
Well, In my quest I've tried:
-Audio technica's ATHM 40's (OK but not that comfortable as the inner touches the ear + only a little noise attenuation).
-Senheiser HD280' (big nose attenuation but a very tiring closed feel to them. There also seems to be a boost around the 7k mark making them a bit harsh + they cling too hard to the head that makes them uncomfortable). Loud but in my view..poor.
-In the past Ive had Beyer Dynamics DT100's, very heavy, poor sound and will always be the 'coconut' of all headphones. It's way past the time for these cans not to be the standard in TV/reporter headphones. terrible
-Senheiser HD210's. For the price Brilliant. I got a pair for myself .. £14!!
-Beyer Dynamics Dt770's. A real treat for my clients. Incredible. Decent noise attenuation, amazingly comfortable, great weight, they stay on the head well (when my clients are reclined), Amazing sound. Although closed back, They have an incredible open sound ! God knows how they've done that ! Perfect allround.
If your thinking of the Hd280's and around that price... Stump up another £20 and get some real headphone. Absolutely brilliant.
ps. i come from a music production background so know good balanced sound when hear it.

Phenomenal headphones, best I've ever used. Can't fault them.
