Marshall AS 100 D

Rating: 9/10

It's simple.... good clean acoustic sound on guitars, mandolins, whistles, flutes and all sorts of other odd things we have put through it!

Controls are easy to use and alter whilst gigging, sound is crisp enough to use on its own in small pub situations, vocal effects range is good improving any voice, and a handy floor siwtch comes with it for instrument effects

Makes a good stage monitor if using pa.

It's a heavy lump to carry about but such is life, strong arms or a small trolley make it easier to move

Pricing is good for what you get which is prety much everything an acoustic musician good ask for... link it up to a good guitar and a good voice and you have all you will ever need for playing at home to small gigs, link it to a PA and you will enjoy the lovely sound of an acoustic still sounding acoustic when making sure the folks at the back can hear!

Allright first off, this thing is amazing.

Sound 9/10- The sound on the dual celestion speakers cannot be matched, I just bought this today and i am totally blown away, i'v been playing it non stop since 2:30 PM, It is now 1:30 AM. I can get the perfect tone out of this thing, it just takes a little work getting the settings right

Durability- ?/10 Honestly i cannot tell you guys whether this thing is durable. I mean, its definatly solid, im pretty sure i could huck this thing down a set of stairs and it'd still work, but im not gonna try it :)

Features 8/10- This new version of the Marshall MG102FX has 4 channels, Clean/Crunch, OD1/OD2, The channels are amazing, The crunch channel gives such a distinct sound, its truly unexplainable.
The digital effects on this amp are: Delay,Reverb,Chorus,Flange and Phaser.
The delay effect is really fun to play around with, and i have written some parts to my new song using it. The reverb sounds amazing, To be honest, i havn't tryed a chorus setting on other amps, so i cannot compare them, but it sounds sweet. The flange is decent, not top notch but definatly noticable. And last but not least is the Phaser, this effect gives you this amazing flange-style type sound, it sounds absolutley stunning on the clean channel,

Others: Comes with a footswitch, the footswitch no longer turns the effects on and off, instead it switches the clean/crunch channels.

This is seriously one of the best amp's you will get for this price range, I paid $722 canadian for it, and so far has been worth every penny, If you have any questions feel free to email me at Element_83_@hotmail.com

I DO reccomend buying this amp.

Very easy to use amp can be powered by batteries or by a 9v adapter, I tend to use batteries as it’s my pick up and go amp, take today for instance nice sunny warm spring day and a free afternoon in collage!! So I brought my MS-4 in and a few of us went down to the local river and sat and played by the riverside and just chilled out. Was loud enough so that we could all here it while chilling, didn’t drain the batteries at all. Easy to get a variety of sounds with 3 knobs gain, volume and tone, as well as an on/off one. Has great tone range for the size of it. Feels a lot more powerful than 1watt which I read that it was and for the price I don’t think you can go wrong id defiantly replace it, if anything went wrong or was stolen. And even if you don’t play out and about or already have a small easy to move practise amp this still stand nice in your room and looks amazing.

I was thinking about buying the Behringer as it is such a good price but spoke to a guy at Dolphin who said that the Marshall was so much better for what I needed. And he was right! In the studio its very quiet but on a small stage it chucks a clean and controlled sound out wonderfully. For any of my acoustics it gives me a crisp and sharp line out to pa/ recording desks as well as having the ability to add a tiny reverb/chorus effect from the clean onboard processor which means no need for masses of pedals (I actually use a GT10) Great buy! I love it!Plus it looks very retro but modern and doesn't weigh a ton. I was feeling prety exclusive about it until I saw a busker on the underground using one (its got a mike channel as well s a guitar one) I must be in the wrong bit odf the business as he was playing a new Taylor as well. Buy this amp its a good bit of kit.

I took a bit of a gamble when I ordered this amp online. I did find some pretty good reviews prior to buying one. I must say this amp does it all very, very well. Low noise floor, powerful output, very articulate nice sounds, no dirtortion even at the highest of levels and plenty of options. Even among the digital effects there are a few I like.
For the price this amp is a steal!
Great work Marshall!

I usually use an Ampeg 15" cab, but when I moved temporarily to the UK from Australia last year I needed to sort out a new cab fast and cheap. The more I looked the more I realised that to get a similar sound I would need a front ported cab. I run my trusty old Gallien Krueger 200RCB, 100w "travel amp" through the Marshall and it sounds sweet! No loss of lows, no annoying highs, just pure classic tone. The Marshall has a switchable horn as well, which I generally tend to run off, but it's nice to know its there. Overall build quality is exceptional and the weight is reasonable but not light. I would recommend the MBC115 to anyone, whether amatuer or pro, you can't go wrong!

Marshall MB30 Practice Bass Amp Combo

Howard Howell (January 5, 2009)

Hi everyone,
Who's looking for a great practice bass amp combo? Well I spent some time trying out practice amps in the sub £100 bracket for my 9 year old son who wanted one for his christmas present. I narrowed it down to a Laney RB1 Richter Bass Guitar Amp Combo but decided to go for the more meatier RB2 30w version. I then spent hours looking at many websites and came across Dolphin Music which had some fantastic prices. I was going to order the Laney but found out it was out of stock. I rang the store the following day and spoke to a member of staff who recomended the Marshall MB30 which I would of never considered before. Well I must say, I was not dissappointed nither was my 2 sons who both thought as well as myself that it had a nicer tone than the Laney. So now we all have big smiles on our faces! I would highly recomend this amp especially having never been a Marshall fan before! Full marks for price and sound. It has a good spec. for the money and the Modern and Classic function is useful too. I purchased a Lynx Standard 3.5mm stereo jack to 6.3mm stereo jack 3m at the same time and the boys have been using an MP3 player with it which worked really well. I tried my Spector 5 string through it for those of wondering what the bottom end is like, and it performed very well so long as you don't crank it up too much. If you want value for money, sound and great service and advice then order one from Dolphin Music. I have rated this 10/10 for those reasons.

Regards and happy playing
Howard

Bascially does what it says on the box... but does it with musicality too. Some echo boxes sound way too clean and clinical but this has several settings to play with ( from analogue , tape echo to digital ) and with a distortion pedal driving it you can get some nice subtle tones which enhance your whole guitar sound. Try one and you will see its very versitile , built like a tank , fiddly battery access ( hence only 9 out of 10 ) and it sounds excellent!!! and its a bargain at £49.00!!!
