First of all, I am an adult amateur who is still learning how to string notes together. I have heard quite of number of reviews on how players should stay clear from the Privia series or even all Casio digital pianos. However, I wondered have these people really tried them especially the later series before they write or is it because the cost of these ranges simply means this is a substandard product to them. True that the earlier series might be inferior as compared to Yamaha or some other reputable brands however the newer series such as the PX720 & 800 comes in with a bang and obviously with a different approach - sleek and compact is the theme is for these privia series. In contrast with upright looking digital pianos, the PX720 & 800 has a relatively short length/width and with a simple back-to-basic design yet somehow maintains the look of a real piano exuding a sexy feel. Now features wise, this device is loaded with a generous 128 polyphony sound, weighted keys, 3 standard pedals, 2 built in earphone jack allowing slient practicing, 3 sensitivy touch response, 2 box speaks to produce rich sound and not forgetting the Tri-element sound system which uses 3 different waveforms of each note, makes it possible to produce realistic sounds at different key pressures. Enough said, it's useless if a digital piano packs a thousand feature but don't sound and feel good. Ultimately, what we need is something that feel and sound as close as the real thing. After playing my 720 for 2+ weeks, I would say its quite close to the upright piano in my dinning room. It sounds good although not as rich as my upright and the touch and response of the weight keys feels just right. Overall, I am happy with this product and will recommend it to all players especially those with tight budget and confined space.
