Vic Firth American Classic® 5A - Wood Tip
Vic Firth American Classic® 5A - Wood Tip
The American Classic® line combines tradition and Vic Firth style. With bold designs for fuller sound, the Classics are turned from select hickory – a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. These are really very good sticks. 5A is the perfect size, you will find it hard not to like these sticks!
Vic Firth American Classic® 5BN - Nylon Tip
Vic Firth American Classic® 5BN - Nylon Tip
For durability and the brightest cymbal sounds, nylon tips are the answer. The American Classic® nylon tip models mirror their wood tip counterparts, so drummers can switch from the richness of a wood tip to the brilliance of nylon without sacrificing feel and balance. And with Vic Firth's new "tip locking" manufacturing process, they won't chip or fly off…

VIC GRIP STICKS
KEN LAPIKOCKIJ (March 20, 2009)Rating: 10/10
I GRABBED A PAIR OF VIC GRIP STICKS IN THE 5BN SIZE TO GIVE THEM A TRY. THE GRIP IS SOOOOOOO NICE! AT FIRST I WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE GRIP SWEATING UP AT LITTLE AFTER EXTENDED PLAY, BUT NO PROBLEMS THERE. THE DIP GOES ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE STICK SO IT WAS CATCHING ON MY PANTS SOMETIMES. BUT THE GRIP IS EASY TO TRIM AND PULLS RIGHT OFF AFTER YOU MAKE YOUR CUTS WITHOUT SCREWING UP THE REST OF THE GRIP. AND THE STICK PLAYS GREAT, NICE TIPS, PERFECT WEIGHT. GREAT STICKS.

Vic Firth 5A Drumstick Review
Jammy (September 20, 2008)Rating: 10/10
I purchased my Vic Firth 5A drumsticks a few weeks ago now, and they have been absolutely fine. They are just the right length (for me, drumsticks are a very personal thing, so you would have to try them before you buy them) and the perfect width (again, for me). The tips are oval apart from one end, which is cut away for the shoulder of the stick. They are made from Hickory.
I Found that the fulcrum point (the point where the drumstick rests on the index finger while holding it) is where the gap between the Vic Firth logo and the flag
(Vic Firth [-]
here^). The sticks feel very sturdy, and make a nice clear sound when they hit the drum (or cymbal, or cowbell, etc).
All in all, these drumsticks are a great pair, and especially if you are a beginner as these make an excellent first choice.
