Just received these monitors today and am a very happy dude. Ordered Sunday night and were here by Tuesday morning. If you're looking for a pair of accurate monitors but don't want to fork out the huge amount of money some charge, this is the way to go. Perfect for my needs as I am a Music Production student.

Best of the cheaper KRK\\\'s
Andy Raymond (February 19, 2011)Rating: 9/10
Compared to both the Rokit 5's and the Rokit 8's these are much better all rounders for home recording and would be excellent for studio recording too. The 5's and the 8's are very good monitors but with the 5's there is a lack of power compared to the higher two, and with the 8's although they are extremely good they are very very bass heavy (but you find that with a lot of larger monitors) and if you want to close monitor something you have to turn them right down which makes it more difficult to hear the full mix of whatever you're doing. With the 6's they are still very powerful but you are able to close monitor and monitor loudly without struggling to hear or straining the speakers. They are a great size too, the 8's are about the size of an average human!
Although they don't have the same power as the 8's i feel they are a better all round choice!

Stephen Midgley (December 11, 2010)Rating: 9/10
The rokit 5's are amazing... they have a very nice tone to them that brings out the best in your music... personally i really like them... for a 5" woofer they still pack a nice punch but dont overpower the mids and highs... altogether i would definately recommend these monitors but only for a small recording studio or home studio use.

Good stuff
BSF (April 13, 2010)Rating: 9/10
Have had those for almost a year now and I know them pretty well. Very good indeed for the price. Tight bass and nice highs but they lack a bit in the midrange, not too accented anyway and it could be a side effect of my room not 100% acoustically treated yet.
Good match with the auralex mopads if you're like me and lack the space for speaker stands and have them on the studio table. Tightens the bottom end nicely.
Sturdy, very well built; probably be using these for many years to come.

I recently purchased a pair of rokit 5 g2's for my home studio set-up, and I am very pleased with the results.
For £250 a pair these are brilliant value. They look and sound great and hav had an immediate impact on my mix down of tracks.
I previously used passive speakers ran through an amp with a tannoy sub, and the rokits have made the mid and top end crystal clear.
I would recommend these to anyone wanting to upgrade their project studio and wanting to take their mixes seriously.

KRK RP 5 MkII
Damien (March 2, 2010)Rating: 10/10
This is my first set of monitors. I am used to mixing on a set of high end computer speakers, so this is obviously a step up. These speakers blow my previous set up right out of the water!
I have listened to my friends' Tannoy and Alesis monitors, which are good, but not as clear as the Rokits.
My favorite feature has to be the knobs on the back, which allow you to tweak the sound so it fits in your room. It's handy as we can't all afford acoustically treated, dedicated mixing rooms.
Overall, I think they are worth every penny.

Great buy
Eclectic Union (February 8, 2010)Rating: 8/10
For some reason I thought I was fine with a set of 2 watt computer speakers for two years. Thankfully I copped on a bit when I decided to buy this set of speakers and for the price they have definately brought on my whole system in leaps and bounds. Having a set of KRK's as your monitor's is a sound choice if you want to create your own recording studio as they offer a quality performance at 0 db but they are very easy to adjust if you so choose.
Perhaps the only criticism I have of them is that they aren't particularly favourable to the subtleties in a song and the center can get drowned out by a strong vocal or drums.
Besides that though they are superb value for the price they cost.

Bought a pair of these to replace some ancient tannoy's. Once unpacked I realised just how well made and sturdy they are. Setting up was simple and very intuative without the need for the manual . I use them to play general audio as well as mixing in my studio and on both fronts the sound is INCREDIBLE - buy some now you will definately not regret it - well worth the money.

Paul Bratcher (November 25, 2009)Rating: 9/10
I have had these in my (home) studio as monitors now for about a year. They provide a crisp nearfield sound, balanced bass and treble response, the bass can be a little boomy when the mix is played on a PA system, but then thats not uncommon and easy enough to fix with a touch of eq.
I have them mounted on floor stands, and spike isolated, I tried them on the desk itself but I found they made the desk shake, maybe had them turned up too far, but it definitely gives a better sound to have them spread away and on stands.
I'd recommend them as monitors.

KRK VXT4\'s - BRILLIANT!
Andrew Ross (July 6, 2009)Rating: 10/10
I needed a new set of monitor's to replace some broken M-Audio ones I bought about 3 years ago. Primarily I produce electronic music, but only in my small bedroom studio. It was between these and the Genelec 8020's, and I dont really live near any music shops to hear them, so it was a gamble as to whether I liked them. Luckily for us, dolphin allow you to return monitors within 7 days anyway if you don't like them. The first thing to note about these is how sexy they look - everyone that comes to the studio just wont shut up about how ace they look. But its when you turn them on that the real magic happens - the bass to come out of these bad boys, considering they're 4-inch driver is unbelievable! Theyre great for referencing on too. If you like the look of KRK's, but you want to take things a bit more seriously and have more cash to play with, definitely get the VXT's over the rokit powered range. From a very happy customer!

The new generation 2 Rockit 5's are an excellent starting point for small/project studios and in my opinion the best pair of reference monitors you can buy with change from £300.
Setup was quick and simple, 3 connections at the back (xlr, 1/4 jack and RCA) and individual gain/hf sweep pots give you a good degree of placement flexibility. Asthetically they're solid and built well, the power light behind the KRK logo is a nice touch!
Setting them up near-field, the first thing I noticed was how larger than average the RP5's 'sweet spot' was, which will come in handy spending long sessions with them. The highs and mids are tight and clear, but the lows are underpronounced which is to be expected at this size.
Dance and bass-intensive music suffers slightly as a result of this so i'd advise to either go up a size to the RP6's or add a subwoofer (KRK10s perhaps) to really pin the bass down in your mixes, but on all round performance the RP5's can't be beaten on price or quality and i'd recommend them to anyone who wants an efficient small monitoring setup or a cracking pair of powered stereo speakers.

I bought these speakers with the V12s about 6 months ago and am absaloutely blown away.
I upgraded from Mackie HR624s and still have these with my NS10s.
The sound quality is amazing, the full frequency range is covered nice and evenly and these speakers really work at high volumes with no distortion whatsoever. The sub makes a huge difference and i would undoubtably recommend it as it really lets the VXT8s come through with the mids instead of fucusing on the lows which the sub does so well. I do often find myself mixing too loud with these though so watch out.
Only problem is they could be better insulated and they can be susceptable to noise.

Great Monitors
James B (March 9, 2009)Rating: 9/10
These are great monitors for a home/project studio.
They are very clear sounding in the mids and highs, and the bass is pretty tight for having only a 5" woofer. They are also nice and loud - but also sound good when they're not cranked.
The build quality is very good - the monitors are heavy and sturdy as you'd expect. The gain and HF knobs on the back seem decent too.
Plus the yellow/black design looks cool!
I'm rating these 9/10 as the bass could have been a bit fuller. But overall these are good monitors.

Chrisser (January 20, 2009)Rating: 9/10
When I priced up a decent multiband control room eq unit and then added the essential reference mic cost to that and all the hassle of using some complex room eq wizard software available on the web, this started to look like a better deal all round. Coupled with this, the fact that this is also a great monitor switcher, with an illuminated knob and A/B(Sub) selection switches with analogue and SPdif inputs AND is a also very decent Firewire audio interface to boot. I went for it.
It really is very good indeed. You don’t just get a 10 band room EQ, you get a tailored 1024 band ‘room modelled’ EQ that has a Global setting for the room in general and a special mix position or focused setting for when you are in you mix position. The software walks you through the mic setup and room learn process and it took me about 30 mins to get the room knowledge up to 96%. Meaning the ERGO had a really good 3d model of my dreadful boxy office with buzzing Victorian bay windows. Quite honestly the cat could have done it if he could have moved the mike stand.
Not convinced? Google ‘RoomPerfect’ and watch the scientific seminar video. This makes ARC look very simplistic.
The sound was tighter and more focused. The bass didn’t boom anymore and the windows stopped buzzing (that I did not expect to get sorted). Most impressive, was that my mixes now sound as good on any system I listen to them on.
Negatives? Very few. It makes a bad thump when it goes off. A surprise as it comes from a speaker company. I have KRK Rokit 8’s and they take quite a hit at power down. Also, The ‘auto-switch’ from SPdif to analogue input sometimes gets a bit confused until you pull out and reinsert the SPdif again.
Overall, I would say that this box has changed my system from borderline demo only, to mastering capable at a stroke. I really am chuffed to bits with this box.
