Pro's: Great build quality, lightweight. The integration with Live is EXCELLENT - just playing around with the demo song will show you what a powerful live remix combo this makes. Check out some youtube vids to see for yourself how fun this controller is - I've already got it set up to flash my dj name across it while I'm playing :) .

Con's: Using buttons to control volume sliders isn't too smooth, would be good to have at least one rotary/slider controller to allow a minimal rig for taking out.

All in all, I love this little box

So far so good. Its just what you expect / payed for. Great assembling quality with just a "drawback" in my humble opinion, altough its something that you get used to it: the pads have a "double click" feeling. Im not sure if that was on purpose, as you may wonder while pushing combos on one pad. Despite that its my "numero uno" buy for this year, must admit. Great price/quality relation.

I have to personally say - when i first got this controller i really felt like throwing it out the window. However when i gave it another chance i actually realised how good of a controller it is for the software i use.

I use Ableton live and NI Traktor Scratch Pro.

It works absolutely perfect with Traktor and i could say it makes DJing even easier than it should be. I have it set up obviously as a mixer for traktor but thanks to the pages function - i can use it to control fx and more...

Its a bit harder to control with ableton - but that's only because it has to be set up everytime u turn it on.

I will agree wit some people sayin it isn't a brilliant product - however i will say that for £80 - it is the perfect midi controller for djing with traktor as a mixer and it is perfect for launching your productions and varying fx while your recording etc.

The drawbacks of it are that the automap function tend to sometimes really mess up... its better to manually assign everything and assign it through different channels and etc.

Overall - i will give this a 7.5 for the handyness and overall great product.

Since my previous review I thought it is only fair to update the situation. Novation have sent a very nice email expressing their regret for the misleading product launch info and have corrected the info on their website. I have signed up as a beta tester. I have been working with the first beta version to work with windows based pro tools. It works and eventhough it still isn't quite right I am getting some real benefit from using the nocturn now. If the next non beta version works and irons out some of the bugs then I can see the review score going up to 10. But only a 7 so far.

Excellent price - saved me money compared to other places. Good priced p&p, fast delivery. The guitar arrived in perfect condition and is an excellent instrument for the money. Can highly recommend it because to me there isn't that much difference between this and a genuine Gibson Les Paul, apart from the price! Very impressed overall.

SL25 fits snugly inside main compartment.
Front pouch has enough room for a laptop and the extra pockets are more than enough for cables and power supplies.
Well built,very rugged, numerous carrying options and keeps my favourite toy nice and safe

- The MAIN POCKET is roomy. You can easily get a few cables down the side once the keyboard is in place.

- The SIDE POCKETS could be bigger, but at least they fit the X-Station PSU nicely.

- I use the FRONT POCKET for my Korg Electribe which is bigger than most laptops and still fits.

- The FRONT ZIP POCKET is handy for small bits and bobs e.g. audio adapters / usb cable.

- The STRAPS are well padded and can be zipped inside the back lining to keep them out of the way when not needed. And the TOP CARRY HANDLE is sturdy. There are also EXTRA CLIP LOOPS which allow you to attach a single strap and wear it like a record bag.

All in all, a very nice, well designed/taylored item.

My only criticism would be a lack of extra padding between the main & front compartments but if I wasn't using the front one for a heavy Electribe instead of a laptop, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

And I'll admit that this bag's existence affected my decision to purchase the X-Station in the first place. Hiking across town with a flightcase sucks.
