Sennheiser HD280 Pro Silver Headphones Reviews
We have two pairs of these headphones at home.
First Isolation, these beauties block external noise to high level, you could park a 747 wearing them. My youngest son uses them as drumming practice headphones to help protect his ears.
We have used them on transatlantic flights where they cut down not only the plane noise, but also the noise of other passengers and their crying infants. The level of passive noise reduction is better than more expensive noise reduction models.
They fold in on themselves which helps to protect the drivers and makes them easy to slot into a flight bag.
They are made in Ireland and both our pairs are still like new. despite having been used daily for two years and crossing the atlantic at least 4 times.
Sound is well balanced, but allow them to burn in gently for 20 hours or so in order to calm down the out of the box lower bass boom and top end sibilance. Once bedded in they offer a full range presentation and are senitive enough to be driven by portable mp3 players such as ipods. We listen to everything from folk and bluegrass to blues and rock. They are not as airy as open backed headphones and the soundstage is reduced compared with the HD515, but that is the price you have to pay to keep the outside world at bay.
I couldn't be happier with these headphones. Amazing quality and have a wide range of uses. I recommend these to anyone.
