This is an absolutely smashing instrument. It even looks loud without plugging it in. The selector switch enables you choose what type of sound you want your Eagle to emit, a booming deep throb, or a twangy rasp..simply by selecting which pickups you want to use. The action on the nect of this guitar is simply astounding. This is one example of where a finely crafted instrument brings out the best of the musician. As to build quality, this is second to none. I have sweated mightily over this instrument during the course of a large number of gigs throughout the 15 months I have owned it, with nary a complaint. The electronics are not active, but rather passive, and this I like. No problems with batteries running out during a gig. Kept its tune even after some heavy, serious, headbanging. The body has also kept up its shine except for a little smear when it accidentally fell to the floor (my fault), but other than that ..immaculate, even to clean. Well worth the cost!
Dating B.C. Rich neck-through guitars is relatively easy, although slightly imprecise by the 1980's. Begining in 1972, the first B.C. Rich guitar was stamped 'Proto', and subsequent guitars were consecutively numbered beginning 001, 002, 003, etc. These consecutive numbers ran up to between 340 and 360. This system was used for the guitars distributed by L.D. Heater.
