Review
I have been operating both audio and video studio projects for over 15 years. I have roughly 25 mikes ranging from $25 to $2,500. I use a pair of AT831b units for conducting online video training shots where my mandate is zero white noise, good dynamic range and the ability to ignore noise even five feet from my subject. I have many similar units but none match the quality output from this little gem. Best $200 I ever spent on a mike. In fact I bought two of them as is my practice for redundancy purposes. Even with a good quality XLR entension of 12 feet plus an XLR to 1/8 stereo pin adapter cable there is zero noise. When using on a prosumer video camera the trick is to run the camera on batteries and never use the DC coverter power source. Will Robertson - LCA Studio Productions, Laguna Hills, CA.
