Not for bass!
I\'m a bassist and have recently decided to start collecting pedals, i\'ve bought a super-octaver, bass synth and bass OD (all behringer) all of which have been great
BUT the hell babe wah...
despite it\'s claims at being bass-friendly it is not THAT versatile, i don\'t knwow i believed the write-up but it doesn;t work for bass, might as well turn up the mid and hit the strings kinda-percussively to get a \'wap\' cos that\'s all the hb01 does
HOWEVER
as has been mentioned, prety solid for guitar.
not the best wah i\'ve used by a long way but for £32, definitely the best value for money.
good buddha wah sound on clean and slightly cry-baby-like on distortion.
so, not bad...but don\'t buy for bass! (unless you like it REALLY subtle)
Hell Babe
this wah is not a cry baby... it is far more suttle and it is very good on cleans.this though does not take away from its use distortion to simulate the cry baby. the knobs on the sides og the wah make this wah far more flexible. this pedal is a very good buy and it is so flexible that it is virtually good for anything, from soft wah part to raving stack distortion quack
Behringer Hellbabe Wah Review
After looking at the price of bass specific wahs and almost having a coronary, I decided to give this wah a try. Unlike most Behringer pedals, this appears to be based on a Morley unit rather than a Boss, with some welcome extras. The adjustable sweep range allows you to tailor the pedal to any instrument, be it bass or standard guitar, and with adjustable Q controls and a tuneable boost built in makes it a versatlie pedal indeed. One thing to note however is it does not \"click\" on and off like a Crybaby, but is activated by moving the pedal and turns of when returned by spring to the heel position, which is something that may take a while to get used to. Built solidly, I would expect this pedal to remain in my borad for many years to come.

this for the money is a great sounding Wah Wah pedal, dont be put off by mongrels who play guitar like wrestlers, this will give you with some setup! the same sounds as a crybaby, at half the price, and considering its heavy plastic its very strong within reason

Behringer's reliability problems continue...
Most of you will probably know that Behringer don't have a great record for reliability, although they are slowly getting better. Unfortunately, this product (for me at least) seemed to be a return to the bad old days.
My first pedal broke, always behaving like it was pushed toe full-down. I sent off for a replacement, and all credit to Dolphin here, they did a great job, giving me a full replacement within a week! I decided I would take extra special care of the pedal, and I did, never transporting it outside of its box, storing it out of reach, but it still went exactly the same way as the first one.
This was a real shame, as it was a versatile and pleasant effect, producing a lovely 'squelchy' sound. I really hope Behringer can sort out their problems, but at the moment I realise that there is a reason that this product is half the price of everything else.
Hell -Babe Wah
I only bought this wah wah because the pot had gone in my cry baby and this was so cheap it would make a good back up, but to my surprise I found it was far superior. This is an extremly versatile pedal, very solid .The boost switch is easy to kick in with your foot and adds another dimension. The sweep is also adjustable and I love the way it comes on as you put your foot on the pedal This is undoubtably the best wah I have used . Great value for money.
Hellbabe Wah
This thing sounds as good as the Dimebag Wah ( a great wah) and is loads better than the Dunlop GCB95 standard series model! I bought it as a backup and just tried it one night and it hasn't left my pedalboard since.
Dunlop had better wake-up to themselves and realise that the cost of goods on their wahs does not warrant their over-inflated prices. WAKE-UP!
Don't waste you money on Morley or Dunlop when this thing sounds just as good.
Cheers,
Rob
