This Brand new model from Gibson features authentic tonewoods, a variety of charming finishes and simply guaranteed Gibson quality.
This guitars legendary design is so brilliant and so rock n roll that it (temporarily) obsoleted the Les Paul models that were dominating the market over 50 years ago. The SG Standard features a luxuriously warm tone due to its all-mahogany neck and body which is punctuated by the baked maple fingerboard, and with Alnico II humbucking pickups, you’ll be able to achieve that classic Gibson tone.
The SG Standard produces an incredible tone; made possible by Gibson’s use of the hard, stable and sonically “live” baked maple fingerboard. This wood baking process (torrefaction) gives the fingerboard the much-desired snappy response of ebony whilst retaining a warm, medium brown appearance that many players appreciate similar to the Brazilian pau ferro. The materials used in the manufacture of this model were specially selected to enhance and improve the guitars overall tone and sound quality.
The SG Standards feature a nitro lacquer finish which is extremely luxurious and toneful and will prove its own importance as the guitar ages. Nothing but Gibson quality.
