The Midtown Custom guitars produce an incredible tone; made possible by Gibson’s use of the hard, stableels are  and sonically “live” baked maple fingerboard. This wood baking process (torrefaction) gives the fingerboard the much-desired snappy response of ebony whilst retaining a warm, medium brown appearance that many players appreciate similar to the Brazilian pau ferro. The materials used in the manufacture of the Midtown Custom models were specially selected to enhance and improve the guitars overall tone and sound quality.

The Midtown Custom guitars feature a nitro lacquer finish which is extremely luxurious and toneful and will prove its own importance as the guitar ages. Nothing but Gibson excellence.
