Mo\'Phatt X
Sorry but I can\'t agree with the other reviewer. This does not give you the same functionality that the original module had because it doesn\'t include the Superbeats and arpegiator functionality. Yes you do get lots of control over filters etc when using Proteus X and Emulator X but those software packages require a steep learning curve. The original modules are much easier to use.
Simply Phatt!!
Mo Phatt X provides user with equal functionality the original mo phatt did. Sounds can be manipulated through dedicated effect processors, such as reverb and chorus, which i found tricky to master. However, once mastered created possibilities i couldn\'t have imagined. Each of the presets of the Mo Phatt X sound set offer can be effected by over 50 E-mu filters (provided by the Proteus X & Emulator X software instruments), which give the stock sounds that edge, setting them apart from any other, giving that unique sound.
I bought an E-mu Xboard, and the product has become so much easier to use, now my controllers can be assigned to a certain paramater in the software instrument, controlling the Mo Phatt soundset, giving a hands on feel to the program, much like the original Mo Phatt gave it's users.
However, many of the stock sounds at times sound cheesy, and felt needed a boost, which is where the E-mu filters and real time effects help characterize, otherwize cheap sounding sounds.
Whether used a sole sound source, or part of bigger arrangement, the Mo Phatt x creates endless possibilities through its comprehensive hip-hop soundset, which is tarnished due to some of the sounds sounding rather cheap.
