Sontronics DM-1B
The DM-1B for kick drum is the result of over two years research and developement by Sontronics. The outcome is an attractive and robust large diaphragm end-fire condenser microphone capable of handling up to 155dB SPL. The mic was frequency tune to accurately capture the vital characteristics of the kick drum such as the beater click, thump, boom and decay. The mic's versatility also makes it perfect for miking up bass cabs and other low frquency, high sound pressure instruments.
The DM-1B features a switchable -15dB pad and it comes with a mount and a sturdy aluminium flightcase, making it an ideal choice for both the studio and in live applications.
The microphone has been tested to destruction before launch, by various session drummers, live musicians and producers, including Flood (U2, Killers, Arctic Monkeys) who found that the DM-1B also gives excellent results on bass instruments, especially bass guitar cabs.
