Good, Bad, Ugly
After taking 3 months to arrive, I was intrigued to find out what I had spent my money on.
The Good: The exterior of the case is pretty well made. This thing can take bangs and bashes. The handle is fairly comfortable and feels robust enough, as do the clasps to lock the case. The foam inside is of decent quality and the S4 sit securely inside. The removable panel at the front of the case is a good idea, and allows headphones to be attached without removing the S4 from the case.
The Bad: The sliding laptop stand is of rubbish quality - it is a great idea, but the build quality is whack. The stopper system is practically non-existent, i.e. when you slide the platter back, it is very easy to slide the entire thing off. The whole package is very heavy, this could be seen as a good or bad thing - it feels like your S4 is safe inside, which I suppose is the main reason for having a flightcase, however it does feel like you are carrying a 1210 around!. The main design fault is that there is no removable panel at the back of the case. As such, getting the output leads into the machine and out to the amp is a proper mess about. Also if you are using the larger 1/4\" jacks, you have bend the cable to get it out of the case - a major design fault. Doh!
I hate the Traktor Logo on the case, but I can live with it.
On the whole, this case is acceptable, but I reckon that it is £40 overpriced - £100 on the nose would be good value, as it is I am unconvinced that it is value for money, but I would rather have it than not.
