Solo pianist vocalist or trio
Bought one of these for quick set up for solo stage piano & vocals and trio gigs. Previously used Mackie 1402 with Lexicon MPX200 but too many cables and racking. My ZED10FX fits into an attache case. Preamps are good and EQ is straight forward and effective. Effects are very tasty and a doddle to control with one hand. One button to select and adjacent button to edit with the level of effect shown by number of LEDs. Layout makes changes on the fly very accessible. Very pleased with it.
The bottom line: preamps aren't as good as true Mackie (the best) and effects not quite as silky as Lexicon but as an ALL-IN-ONE mixer it is very well made and robust and putS out a great sound. The best little mixer with FX for just over £200 for sure! I chose it over the Spirit EFX8 (great Lexicon effects, weaker preamps in my opinion) and the made in China Mackie ProFX8 having had a bad experience with the Mackie DFX12 which packed in after 18 months. Behringer preamps don't even come close. USB connectivity is just a bonus.
