iLok is a hardware USB dongle that accepts "license chips" for software authorization. It uses the same, secure Smart Card technology that you've probably already used in cellphones, casinos, on the American Express blue card, and so forth.

You can take your iLok dongle anywhere, and use the software on any computer free from the problems of hard drive failures, computers which don't have floppy disks, and so forth. Repeat: no more floppy disk or hard drive headaches!

I\'d rather not need one of these things but at least I could get it from here and not direct from iLok.com. If you want blue, better specify it as I received red...

The iLok arrived very quickly and I plugged it straight in. The iLok website is very very easy to use and I had my account set up and running in no time. I used it with the G-Rack bundle I bought from Dolphin the previous week and I was flabbergasted to find all authorisations were completed in a one batch - all worked first time and it took no time to do it. If I was looking to make one critisism it would be that the iLOK itself is quite large by modern dongle standards - how tough is that?
It was ridiculously easy and quick to use - don't hold back

The item arrived in time. It was very easy to transfer my serial info to the key. It works just fine in my Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
