Direct Monitoring

All digital audio recording systems introduce a small delay between the instrument input and the output coming from the computer. This “latency” can be distracting enough to cause pitch and timing errors when you’re recording. Doesn't work with windows 64

Would not recommend for Windows 64, is not plug-in an play, apparently not supported yet due to some syncing issue with ASIO.

Pro tools essential was missing from my box which was a shame because im used to protools mpowered.

The interface itself is great for the money, its plug and play i didnt need to install any drivers at all.

Not very upgadeable as it has no line ins but to get you going on a budget its ideal.

M-AUDIO FAST TRACK 2

High pitched noise, straight out of the box. The Fast Track software isn\'t verified by Windows, so you get 2 warnings on installation which M-Audio advise you to ignore - but it\'s still a little disconcerting!

Phoned 3 times to M-Audio support but initial advice given was poor (\"try installing in Safe Mode\" - I kid you not!).

Eventually M-Audio have asked me to return the unit as it \"must be faulty\".

If the replacement unit comes back good then I\'ll submit a more positive review but, for now, I\'ve been very dispapointed.

The only positive is that the Pro-Tools M-Powered Essential software is really good and seems to be a good way of getting in to Pro-Tools for a beginner like me. It\'s just that there\'s a high-pitched noise in the background the entire time!! :o(

Great interface, with good clean sounding pre-amp.

Comes with Pro-tools M-Powered essentials, I have been a cubase and logic user for a number of years, but I have to say that I will be a Pro-tools user from now on. Worth it for the free plug-ins alone, 16 tracks of audio + plus worked straight out of the box with my M-Audio MIDI Keyboard.

Pro-tools will take a little to get used to if your used to other software, but this stripped down version is great to learn with.

Great service from dolphin, had it within a few days, always check for availability though.

Overall I have given this product 10 stars because its really hard to beat in terms of price, For the singer/songwriter or people new to the recording process this can\'t be beat.
