An Amateur Review of the SE2000
I have two of these. One arrived in a nice wooden box and the other in a cardboard box. They are both slightly different lengths but sound the same. Both came with a shockmount.
In an amateur jam session, both behaved very well and sounded good on both vocals and acoustic guitar. Good quality for the price but they would never beat a real pro like an AKG 414.
Also take a look at the SE X1, which is not too dear, looks good, highly regarded and can come bundled with the Reflexion Studio filter.
Can somebody help me please...
I got one connected to my interface,m-audio,but I can't ear any noise,and I can't see any signal,I know they need to charge for 30 minutes but,still no work,I use pro tools,and I can't do nothing,can I use any interface?
They really need a phantom power?please help me,:-(...
Brilliant
I bought this about 2 weeks ago and haven\'t stopped using it since. I\'ve used it to record a few vocal tracks for a few projects and to do a voice over for a radio advert both of which came out superbly due to the quality of the mic.
It has a weight to it but this shows how well built it is.
I can\'t fault this microphone in any way.
You\'ll struggle to find a better microphone for the money & at £77.50 its a bargain too.
SE Electronics SE2000 Large Cardioid Microphone
I could not beleive the quality of this microphone for the price.
I play violin/cello and do orchestral strings arrangements, and wanted a mic for my own home recording needs.i.e. for use with Cubase 5.Using this with an Edirol UA-25EX USB interface the performance in opinion is outstanding.I have been recorded over the years with all types of mikes, but this one is equally as good.My advice to anybody wanting a top class recording of acoustic instruments,don\'t be put off by the price !
SE2000
SE2000 Ideal for project studio work & beyond, Low self noise good balanced sound for the price £77.50 buy one now. I tested it along side my Rode NT1 pretty much on par. Box is a nice addition if your recording on location for that added protection (also holds the shockmount).
SE Electronics SE2000 Large Diaphragm Microphone
My premise was sinple.
To find a condenser microphone, (Best for vocals) withing a tight budget that helps add a quality feel to vocal snipets in my tracks.
Knowing that SE make fantastic microphones was a good start and seeing that the cost was accurate for this device was another very good starter.
Not knowing a large amount of technical data about microphone design I have to say, for me didn\'t prove a problem and feel I made the perfect choice for my project studio,
The solid feel, weight and finish is brilliant, and the sound fantastic, when moving up from a dynamic microphone, I could hear everything in the studio loud and clear.
I can\'t fault what I can\'t compare with this mic, but if your needs are anything like my own, regarding experimental vocals, acoustic snipets or anything else regarding basic audio input.
Then this should fit that need perfectly.
Can\'t be beaten for £77.50!
This mic is brilliant! AND it\'s cheap! The wooden box it comes in is a little strange and pointless, but the mic itself is fantastic.
I used to have an SE 2200A which is better, but for my situation it was too good - it was way too sensitive and picked up far too many unwanted noises (and it was £100 more!). The SE2000 is warm and clear. With the high pass on, it\'s sharp, although could be better, but hey - £77.50! Can\'t complain.
