Edirol PCR-M1
I dithered over this unit for ages. I could have got more knobs and sliders for less cash but... This thing is so flat!!! It is lower on the desk than my qwerty keyboard. Feels quite solid and the keys are short throw but just comfy somehow. The rotaries feel positive and good quality with a centre indent.
The velocity sensitivy is well balanced for light playing and heavy drum programming.
To be honest the pitch bender is crude and the modulation a bit on off... But somehow the whole thing is just so nicely done that I forgive it. USB powering rules. One cable and we\'re sorted.

This is a great little surface controller and perfect when used in conjunction with programs such as Reason 3.0
You definatly get your money's worth with this and I reccomend it to anyone who does not own a control surface or needs to update their old one
For that hands on approach which really makes all the difference, this is a must buy
I was really pleased that for just under £100 I could get such a well made and intuitive piece of kit- it's superb and very easy and pleasant to work with, and for me with quite a limited workspace the compact Edirol PCR-M1 was the perfect choice-very light and durable- it comes with a nice carry case taboot!
I found the pitch bend and modulation controls along with the number of assignable controls; 8 knobs, 6 buttons, 1 sustain pedal, and 1 expression pedal very useful and easy to use with my program of choice Reason 3.0
In summary the Edirol PCR-M1 is a wonderfully affordable and compact control surface which I highly reccomend to those with a small home studio or with limited space
From me it gets 10/10 hands down- I love it!
