The 15W head is the ultimate in Marshall portable valve tone. On its own you can take it anywhere, safe in the knowledge that you will never have to settle for someone else’s equipment.
Combined with one or two Haze 1x12” cabinets loaded with Marshall / Celestion G12-66 Marquee speakers it is possible to also have your very own mid sized stack or half stack combination with the power to really push out all 15W of valve power.
The ultimate aspiration for most guitarists is a full Marshall stack, brimming with power, iconic looks and most of all exemplary tone. In reality many people do not need the volume that a full valve stack produces let alone have the room in their home to store one. The Haze 15W amplifier head provides the perfect solution. A compact, 15W all valve amplifier with effects and reverb that not only looks like a Marshall head but plays like one too.
If your dream is own a stack that will fit into you lounge or spare room combining the 15w head with Haze 1x12” cabinets you can create your own classic looking mid sized stack. As with the other amplifier and the speaker cabinets in the haze range the 15W head is finished to the highest spec and is covered in a vintage style vinyl and fitted with protective corners.
The hand stretched baffle fretcloth with its white piping finish matches the 1x12” cabinets available in the range which means that you can combine it with 1 or 2 cabinets and create the coolest looking mid sized stack on the planet. Just because the Haze 15W head is smaller than a standard valve head doesn’t mean that it is quiet, or that it lacks the power in its tone that you expect from a Marshall amp. Its 15W of all valve power guarantees you the Marshall experience in your own home.
The Haze 15W amplifier head is driven by an ECC83 preamp stage and 6V6 power amp, combining to create fantastic valve tone that belies its stature.
The Haze 15 has both normal and overdrive channels with a shared EQ and onboard effects providing a versatile sound set and delivering an all valve tone in a compact package that performs just like an all valve amplifier should.
Designed in the same style as our traditional Marshall head amplifiers, the two distinctive footswitchable channels of the 15W Haze amplifier offers a variety of tonal possibilities. The normal mode has bags of headroom and provides a rich and
organic clean sound.
In the overdrive channel the Haze 15W delivers a warm overdriven tone and its separate gain control makes it possible to dial in preamp drive, distorting your tone before it reaches the power stage and delivering a more gritty rock tone. There is a bright switch which is shared between both the normal and overdrive channels.
When engaged the bright switch really lifts the overall sound achieved, adding extra bite and sparkle, defining the edge of your tone when you need it. Both the normal and overdrive channels use a shared 3 band EQ allowing you to individually adjust the treble, middle and bass response or the amplifier to suit your taste.
Effects
The effects section of the Haze 15 contains custom voiced effects and reverb that have been specially designed by Marshall to compliment the feel and tone of the amplifier. Each effect selected on the channel will be remembered when you return to the channel which means you can set up your clean and overdrive sounds and return to them over and over again with out having to re-adjust your settings.
The warm emulated spring reverb has its own independent control which allows you to add in as much or as little reverb as required. For those who want to completely remove the reverb circuitry from the equation the reverb control is fitted with a positive off switch which means that by rotating the control anti clockwise you can feel the control click indicating that the reverb circuitry is bypassed.
The 3 selectable effects in the Haze 15 reflect the overall feel of the tone available and have been designed to work with the tone of the amplifier to ensure that every one feels rich and satisfying.
Effects are selected using the front panel Effects button and indicated by the colour of the LED, when there is no light the Effects section is off. Green indicates that Echo effect is selected orange shows that Vibe is selected and red indicates the effect in use is the Chorus. By using the Effect Level control you can determine just how much of the effect you want in your sound.
Echo- This effect is designed to give a warm analogue echo sound ranging from double tracking through slapback to a full second of delay.
Vibe- The vibe effect applies a vibrato to your tone providing a familiar and usable shimmer to your guitar’s sound. It can be used easily to add extra depth and substance to your tone. The adjust control for the vibrato allows you to select the amount of vibrato applied from a vintage vibe at low settings and almost phaser depth at the maximum setting.
Chorus- Chorus is a proven effect in the guitarist’s tool box to add depth and warmth to a sound adding a useable sparkle. The chorus for the Haze 15 is no exception and works in conjunction with the amplifiers tone to produce a complimentary chorus perfectly voiced for the amplifier.
The Haze 15 is simple to use and its familiar layout means that you won’t have to spend an age figuring out how to use it. Every Haze 15 is supplied with its own 2 way footswitch which means that you don’t have to use the front panel to change channels or switch the effects on or off, simply stomp your preferences like a true pro.
