Marshall MG50FX Description

Due to the technical nature of the Marshall Amplification products advertised on this page it is highly recommended that you contact us by telephone or by coming into our store to discuss your particular requirements and to arrange a demonstration before buying any of these products

MG50FX When you need enough power to be heard the MG50FX delivers. Not only does this powerful combo possess unrivalled tone in its class it also benefits from features such as a custom selected 12” speaker to ensure the highest quality sound.

The MG50FX is supplied with a 2 way footswitch and in addition the MG50FX also benefits from compatibility with STOMPWARE® technology in a revolutionary new controller sold separately allowing you to choose and store your settings, add to these new custom voiced effects in an effects system laid out to allow total flexibility and 3 effects at once! MG50FX provides the flexibility and control you need.

Incorporating a separate control for the onboard reverb allows just the right amount of depth to be added to your tone, Delay is also controlled by its own independent control and not only can you add in as much or as little delay as you require what’s more the onboard tap tempo function also allows you to dictate exactly how fast the delay runs. The third effects control provides a three option chorus / phaser / flanger section allowing one of these custom voiced effects to be added into your sound.

Even with is volume capabilities you still need to be able to practice in private or play along with your favourite tracks so the 3.5mm headphone jack and 3.5mm input jack mean you can play along backstage or at home in relative silence whilst still sampling the awesome tone of a Marshall.

The MG50FX also has the added capability of an effects loop which can be engaged from the front panel whilst additional pedals in the loop can be connected via the rear jack sockets. Additional Damping control adds further personality to the tone with each of the two damping settings providing a different feel to the response of the amplifier.

The MG50FX offers all of the features and functionality needed in an amplifier to allow you to play your guitar to its full potential in a compact yet powerful combo.

Marshall MG50FX combo

I bought this from the Huddersfield store.

having sufferd frustration at the hands of Line 6 and Vox ADVT amps, I wanted something more practical to use live - no \'amp models\', guitar sound emulations, just the basic controls with a couple of switchable channels.
This amp is so easy to operate compared to the ones mentioned. There are actually 4 switchable channels, simply preset by turning 3 tone and 2 volume knobs and then pressing \'store\', and accessed by a 2 button footswitch. I had it ready to gig 5 minutes out of the box.
There are onboard effects (I tend to use external boxes)but they sound ok, to be honest.
The sound? It sounds like a Marshall, if you don\'t like that, buy something else.
If, like me, you got fed up of emulating everything and everybody under the sun, this amp could make a refeshing change.
I was a little concerned about 50w being a bit quiet, that worry disappeared somewhat quickly.
It\'s loud.
