Ibanez G5ECE
For the price this guitar is fantastic. Excellent tone and setup. Just cover a few main points here, so that everything gets seen to:
1. Playability
This guitar is very nice to play, the one I received was perfectly set up (right action, etc.). In this sense it would get 10/10, excellent for a guitar of this price. No fret buzz to be seen... at all! xD
2. Sounds and Tone
The sounds that come out of this guitar are almost perfect.... lovely bassy tones on the lower strings, but the higher strings can sometimes be quite lacking n volume as compared to the lower ones. 8/10 here.
3. Build quality
Again, great build quality; none of the fret wire is sharp or has defects... however my guitar came with a couple of small scratches just under the bridge which I assume appeared during transport. Finish is excellent. 9/10
4. Strings and built-in tuner
The d\'Addario EXP strings that are supplied with the guitar provide a good sound and are very playable. I don\'t know exactly what type of the EXPs they are... it doesn\'t say on any of the instruction manuals or the despatch sheet, so for replacement with similar nylons I don\'t know what to suggest.
The built-in tuner is good, however slighly fiddly, and makes use of the under-saddle pickup. It also uses three LEDs, one denoting sharp, flat and tone each, to determine how far from the correct note you are.
5. Value for money
To say this guitar is much less expensive than classical guitars with a similar tone and list of features it is a bargain. If my Galvador were damaged or the neck warped or something I would definitely buy it again.
Overall Rating: 9/10
