A headset microphone of exceptional sound quality, the ME 3 is intended for music and speech applications that require maximum movement and close proximity signal reproduction - applications with high on-stage sound present no problem.

The headband is comfortable and immovable, enabling use during exertive dance or sports activities. The super-cardioid condenser design offers excellent feedback rejection.

Sennheiser ME3

I ordered this mic for its reported noise cancelling properties. When it arrived I tested it with the TV on in the background. I was amazed at how well the mic performed with its high quality reproduction of my speech and excellent cancellation of the background TV noise.

Be warned about the 3.5mm stereo jack - it has a floating threaded locking collar which may prevent full insertion in standard sockets. Dolphin Music did not tell me this, and if you change the plug, the warranty is voided!

used daily for making cd's and at venues..cannot be beaten at the price..put the mike around the chin area and us highish gain...wow !!!

Okay at the price

The ME3 produces the well-known rich Sennheiser sound with no annoying peaks or dips that must be adjusted on the console. Its dynamic range is excellent - whether you whisper or scream at the top of your voice, it just goes there with you.

There are some drawbacks though. It is very sensitive to breath noise. Especially if the artist or speaker has a small head, it's close to impossible to adjust the gooseneck appropriately. You'll probably find it both easier and cheaper to change the microphone than the artist's head.

While it's definitely not the sexiest looking microphone around, it is not uncomfortable to wear, even for hours.

This is not a microphone built for life on the road. I've had connections gone south, both in the jack and in the little box that the gooseneck is attached to even though it wasn't handled in any way I'd consider to be rough.
