Fender Princeton
Background
Ive had this amp for about two months. I have had many amps, cornell romany+, fender pro junior with bill m mods (top US amp mod), fender 64 vibroverb, bassman head and cab, hot rod deluxe etc... - so Im comparing it to some top amps.
Opinion
This is 15watt tube amp without master volume so its really for clean home use. Its not loud enough for use on its own with a rock band - but it would be fine for quieter bands or mic it. Really its a practise amp.
Best small amp for my tastes I have ever owned as it has all the frequencies, rich, thick, clean, glassy, twangle, rythmn - the sound has excellent depth rather than being too shallow like other lower powered amps - I was a bit concerned the 10 inch jensen wouldnt be responsive enough - and I have celestien 12 heritage spare - but it doesnt need it the jenson is perfect. The reverb and vibrato are excellent. This is basically the little brother to the deluxe reverb and vibroverb - both excellent amps that might be a better choice for gigging - but I wanted a home amp that had their tone in a smaller package.
This is an amp that does the fender sound at the highest level - however if you are a high gain player - ie Angus - it wont do it for you - it will do SRV if cranked up or if thats a problem at home (it is for me) use a tube screamer.
Great amp - for clean fender tones.
