Alesis DM5 Pro Kit - What a service!
The service I received was astounding. Ordered on Friday. Arrived on Monday. Dolphin Music, the best music supplier I\'ve come across for a while.
The product itself. Not a single flaw. There is a slavery of the 1 hour set up time and then powering up but for it\'s value ... What a product. No problems at present. Very responsive, delivered in perfect condition.
I am planning on using many of the MIDI features but currently I am so shocked at was this product offers it\'s difficult to actually pull myself away. Even coming to write this review was hard to do. It is just so much fun and the rhythms that you can create is phenomenal.
If your looking for a starter kit, my recommendation is this. With Dolphin Music you even get a Drum Throne which is very comfortable.
Seriously consider this a purchase if you are looking for an e-kit.

DM5 PRO
Firstly I would like to say thanks to Richard Lennon at Dolphin, an asset to the company, very helpful chap.
DM5 Pro is a great piece of kit, its very adaptable and versatile. Only took an hour to construct and was impressed with how solid in construction it was. Easy to set up both on the building and setting all the pads to the module.
Sounds great, feels great, and being able to edit the kits so substantially is great.
My only grumble would be the hi-hat pedal and response can sometimes be a bit flaky, but with that said I have read that Alesis have released some new presets and improved triggers to download and these have been held in high regard by those that use the DM5 Pro.
The drum pads are of very good build quality, being mesh heads the have a natural feel over the standard DM5 or the less kits that have the rubber pads.
In terms of value this is a great piece of kit, its certainly worth the money I have spent on it.
DM5 Pro Drum kit with Free Tool
First of all, I'm not a drummer. I dabble.
I got sick of trying to right drum tracks on a midi keyboard or with a stave.
I got this because I couldn't justify the Vdrums kit price when I'm not a full time drummer.
I did a lot of searching on the web for problems and issues with the kit and found a couple of minor ones but thankfully i've not experienced any.
I've connected it up to a mini mixer so I can play along to stuff when I'm not midi'ed up.
The sounds are good and a couple of the preset kits sound fine (some of them are completely useless but presets on any bit of gear are always the same).
The cross talk on the dual trigger snare will need to be adjusted when you get it as it bleeds like crazy.
The rack is solid and didn't take very log to assemble.
A lot of things on the web about the quality of the rack were quite negative, I've had no problems what so ever.
It's what I expected to get, a cheap and cheerful alternative to the Vdrums and it suits my needs down to the ground.
Yes it doesn't have the dynamic control hi-hat and yes it doesn't have multi trigger cymbals but I don't ned them.
It would be an excellent starter kit.
..and it's a good laugh when you put on the headphones and just want to blast out some anger :)
