Rokit 5's
The rokit 5's are amazing... they have a very nice tone to them that brings out the best in your music... personally i really like them... for a 5" woofer they still pack a nice punch but dont overpower the mids and highs... altogether i would definately recommend these monitors but only for a small recording studio or home studio use.
Great buy
For some reason I thought I was fine with a set of 2 watt computer speakers for two years. Thankfully I copped on a bit when I decided to buy this set of speakers and for the price they have definately brought on my whole system in leaps and bounds. Having a set of KRK\'s as your monitor\'s is a sound choice if you want to create your own recording studio as they offer a quality performance at 0 db but they are very easy to adjust if you so choose.
Perhaps the only criticism I have of them is that they aren\'t particularly favourable to the subtleties in a song and the center can get drowned out by a strong vocal or drums.
Besides that though they are superb value for the price they cost.
KRK RP5 G2
The new generation 2 Rockit 5\'s are an excellent starting point for small/project studios and in my opinion the best pair of reference monitors you can buy with change from £300.
Setup was quick and simple, 3 connections at the back (xlr, 1/4 jack and RCA) and individual gain/hf sweep pots give you a good degree of placement flexibility. Asthetically they\'re solid and built well, the power light behind the KRK logo is a nice touch!
Setting them up near-field, the first thing I noticed was how larger than average the RP5\'s \'sweet spot\' was, which will come in handy spending long sessions with them. The highs and mids are tight and clear, but the lows are underpronounced which is to be expected at this size.
Dance and bass-intensive music suffers slightly as a result of this so i\'d advise to either go up a size to the RP6\'s or add a subwoofer (KRK10s perhaps) to really pin the bass down in your mixes, but on all round performance the RP5\'s can\'t be beaten on price or quality and i\'d recommend them to anyone who wants an efficient small monitoring setup or a cracking pair of powered stereo speakers.
Great Monitors
These are great monitors for a home/project studio.
They are very clear sounding in the mids and highs, and the bass is pretty tight for having only a 5\\\" woofer. They are also nice and loud - but also sound good when they\\\'re not cranked.
The build quality is very good - the monitors are heavy and sturdy as you\\\'d expect. The gain and HF knobs on the back seem decent too.
Plus the yellow/black design looks cool!
I\\\'m rating these 9/10 as the bass could have been a bit fuller. But overall these are good monitors.
