Ederol FA101
I chose the FA101 because it came with 10 ins and outs and for the price i couldn\'t find a better interface. I have had the FA101 for a few months ago and have been happy with it. I have been using on my macbook running logic in my small bedroom studio. It was easy to set up, has good sound quality and is very easy to use.
The only thing i don\'t like about this Interface is that the main monitor control effect the level of the headphone\'s which is a bit of a pain. Also when i turn the monitors right down the sound keeps changing volume of cuts in and out. Most of this doesn\'t affect me very often as i don\'t usually have it turned down very low. And if I\'m using headphone my monitors are usually switched off.
Over i think the FA101 was a good choice for my studio as it has all the ins and outs i will ever need and is small enough to be kept out the way. it dosen\'t look to bad either.
FA-101 review
I've had this machine for about 2 years and it does everything it promised.
I use it coupled with a Sonar 6 multitrack software without troubles.
Nice complete machine, it word better (less noise) with the dedicated power supply than with the firewire interated power supply.
It was a perfect audio card if it was provided of phantom power supply switchable for each of two mic-inputs instead of a single switch for both inputs, since sometime you can have a mic with its own stand alone supplier.
Finally, it was very useful if it was provided of (at least) two "mute" buttons again for each input channel.
Currently if you want to mute an input you'll have to close the input pot (uncomfortable)

Edirol FA-101 Review
This little baby really does have 10 inputs and 10 outputs! This shiny red beast can be powered by main adaptor (supplied!) or through the firewire bus - this does actually work and doesn't gobble too much power from my PowerBook battery either! Thge sound quality is top notch too with very low latency - I was going to buy the yamaha 01X but I though the build quality sucked so I decided to get this and wait for the Behringer B-Controllers instead. If you need a quality soundcard for int the studio or on the road (or both) and you got £370 to spare, get one of these - recommeded! If you do, remember to read the manual, there's a small volume control on the back of the unit for the inputs, I wondered why my hardware was a little quiet for a while-DOH!
