Review regarding the Auralex D36-DST Roominator (Charcoal/Burgundy)
I searched for quite some time for a cheap, quality acoustic kit to apply in my drum room at home. The main problem in this room is that all the surfaces are straight and the reflections don\'t stop, so it was a constant pain in my ears.
The room where I applied this product isn\'t very big, approximately 4x4 meters.
The product arrived very well arranged.
One of my initial fears was regarding the amount of glue that came with the package, but I glued approximately 70% of the panels with only one tube.
The installation of the product is extremely easy, one person can do it alone without a problem. The glue is very good, just apply pressure for 10 seconds and you\'re good to go.
Visually the room looks really good, you can do several different patterns with these pieces.
In terms of acoustic, my ears are safe now. The mid and high freq are being absorbed. I placed a thick mat on the floor and it helped the overall sound.
In the future I will probably apply some auralex bass traps to complement the system, but that is something that is not currently necessary in that room.
as for general use, I would certainly use this product in voice rooms and broadcast studios. They are better looking and adsorb more than those big grayish pieces of foam on the old studio of the radio station where I work.
the only defect that I found on this kit is a slight colour difference in one of the burgundy panels, but nothing important.
