This hansom devil won't be single for very long
I'm always skeptical when buying "entry level" studio equipment, but I must confess these are a cut above most other budget speakers.
On first listen I thought they may be paying to much favour to the source audio. Celine Dion's 'The Power of Love' really came alive. However, repeated listens to more appropriate material convinced me that these speakers were the real deal. Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" sounded as unimpressive as one could possibly imagine. These speakers managed to reduce an outstanding technical achievement to a bland, lifeless, wash of grey sonic imagery.
Even pieces that couldn't conceivably sound any worse (such as "A day in the life" by cult pop quartet The Beatles) were kept in a state of pure audiological bleakness.
As we all know, the purpose of Studio Monitors is to add as little colour to your music as possible.
Well rest assured, no other speakers will make your music sound as crap as these little beauties!
And I don't say that lightly.
Truly uninteresting, can't wait to buy another set for the kitchen!
My rating: 10/10
Moral of the purchase
Last month, I needed a reason to re-mortgage the house, but I don\\\'t know why \\\"buy Studio monitors\\\" came to mind. I figured it\\\'s the audiophile voices in my head. I needed to relax so I popped one of my father-in-law\\\'s xanax. Nonetheless, I listened. I went and bought not one, but a pair of these futuristic, sophisticated and not to mention CHEAP.... if let\\\'s say... you\\\'re a celebutante in a MTV daytime reality TV show looking for a way to burn daddy\\\'s cash... pieces of technology. When I got home, I locked myself in my bedroom, I plugged them into my computer and instantly started rubbing my penis and soon after, ejaculated. I tried to convince myself it was at the mellifluousness of the sound quality and not because I was watching a video clip from \\\"xvideos.com\\\".
At the fear that I\\\'ve been conned, I conducted an experiment; I would visit \\\"xvideos.com\\\" but each time use different monitors. I even plugged in headphones to see if they had the same effect. It seemed that all monitors made me rub myself inappropriately if I visit the same website. I walked through the kitchen to get to the bathroom to find anything that passes for lubrication and I overheard my wife speaking to one of her friends. \\\"My dad\\\'s going crazy cos he\\\'s lost his last viagra\\\" she said. Suddenly, I felt like a trap door opened underneath me and was falling at an incredible pace. I started to lose my breath. I screamed in my mind: \\\"oh no! I\\\'ve had 32 wanks in a day and this is now the end, I knew this is how I\\\'d die!\\\"
Luckily, shortly after I passed out I woke up in the emergency room. \\\"What happened?\\\" I asked my wife with a hint of despair. She said: \\\"You\\\'re a wanker who spent 20 grand on studio monitors. Who does that? You got mugged off\\\"

Agreed. I felt i needed an upgrade from my logitech setup and decided the Genelec 1036A would be a perfect addition to my studio. So after selling both my children i went and bought a pair and i must say they sound amazing! I recommend this monitor for anyone looking to start producing as well as those who are serious about listening to music
cheers

i bought a couple of these last week.
I was just passing the shop and had a spare 40G, so i figured why not...took a punt on the, theyre ok for the money, not great i have to cross reference them with my ipod earbuds as i find they lack clarity, high and low end. overall ok, good for a budget i guess.
