The Super Champ™ of the early 1980s was an up-to-the-minute take on the venerable Fender Champ® amp. It contained a powerful 10” speaker, large for a Champ; its new overdrive capabilities were further enhanced by the inclusion of genuine Fender Reverb. Bottom line, it had incredible gain and volume in a compact package-- a real surprise for guitarists who were accustomed to hauling much larger amps to the studio or rehearsal hall.

The Super-Champ XD amplifier takes the vintage formula into a new era by combining a real tube amp with up-to-date “extras” like versatile amp voicing and quality DSP effects. The inclusion of solid-state overdrive and distortion eliminates many of the preamp tube problems that plague tube lovers, while providing tones for rock, blues, country, jazz, metal, and more. And the Line Output and Speaker Output capabilities mean that recording and practice sessions are rockin’ with the Fender Super-Champ XD.

Valve Hybrid

Great little amp! Bags of modulation effects, and the modelled drive sounds are all usable. I use this amp in practice driving a Marshall 4x12 and the volume only has to be set half way to be heard above the drummer and other guitar player. Line out to PA sounds very good, the only thing I'd like to see is a mid knob between the bass and treble for a bit more EQ control.

Lovely amp with a nice warm sound. I play a lot of reggae / dub and this amp has a wonderful balance of clarity and softness in the clean channel.

It is also just loud enough to be heard above drums in a practice. If my Superchamp was to break I would go right out and buy another.

It's just a shame there is not a louder one so I could gig with it.

Fender Super Champ XD

This is a really versatile amp in a portable package, and yet it retains the sound of a bigger combo. The footswitch is a vital accessory for making the most of the lead/rhythm channel selection facility - a feature I particularly valued. The construction and appearance are excellent, and the FX terrific. Just remember to let the valves warm up and cool down. I had to put a UK plug on it. A cover of some sort important too.

Whayt a great value-for-money amp this is. Whilst some of the amp-sims are maybe a little way from the real thing (eg the Vox)in truth is in the mix you won\'t know the difference. Add in real valves and super effects and you have a great - and loud- amp. Only the acoustic simulator lets it down. Even so, it\'s still usuable. Get one!
