Quiklok RS-654
Good rack for a home studio - easily put together, sturdy, easy access to all your 20U\'s of gear, front and back.
I have some minor quibbles with it that QuikLok could improve on:
- For some reason, they only supply half the rack bolts that you could need for 20U\'s - unless all your gear is 2U or bigger, you\'ll run out.
- The bottom quarter of the unit is useless and just takes up space, particularly in the way it protrudes out into the room because of the angle of the frame. It could have been straightened, and/or used for shelves, drawer space or similar.
- The lack of a bottom shelf, and of any extra frame around the back of the unit which you could fix things to, means a lot of your cabling hangs onto the floor and gets stuck under the castors.
So I\'ll be modding my RS654 with a bit of woodwork to make a really good 10/10 rack!
I\'d still rather have this than a traditional rectangular closed rack - which are a nightmare to cable when you have short units deep inside them.

An essental piece of kit! Easy to construct - it took me 2 minutes and I'm not a DIY expert :-)
This quiklock is well designed providing easy access to your gear. It's also very stable and the wheels become pretty useful when you need to make an patching changes.
10/10 - simple but perfect.
