NOT BUYING THIS PRODUCT!
Thankyou Lynn for indirectly advising me not to buy this product!
If a product claims to do one thing but does something else entirely then the buying public should be warned!
This is in no way a bad reflection on this excellent site! Dolphinmusic.co.uk is indeed a 10/10 star rated site but you probably should take issue with Auralex over their coverage claims and it is great that you leave Lynns review up as a warning to others!
SO... Thankyou Lynn & Thankyou Dolphinmusic.co.uk!!
Perhaps not so easy as described
This product was a bit of a disappointment to me.
Firstly, following the advised coverage per can, I initially bought 3 cans. Unfortunately, I have only put up around 20% of my tiles and I\'ve used two cans up already. I am therefore back here to purchase another 6 cans and will try to use a bit less of it per tile.
Secondly, the nozzles clog up extremely quickly. The nozzle on my first can clogged to the point of being completely unusable before I got to apply my second set of tiles. Even during use, the spray pattern changes from the nice wide spray pattern to a feeble thin string within seconds. As you need to wait five minutes for the glue to become tacky before applying the tiles to the wall, I found I had to resort to removing the nozzle between each application and submerging it in a bowl of white spirit! Turning the can upside down to clear the nozzle (a trick I learned from using spray mount), didn\'t work with this product.
Another disadvantage with this product is the colour of the glue itself. I am applying it to white walls and was hoping that it would dry clear so that any over spray would be invisible. Alas, it is an orange colour. Therefore any over spray needs to be immediately cleaned off the wall with white spirit before it dries.
When spraying onto the wall, I also discovered that it splutters, drips, or runs fairly easily. I would recommend covering the floor or any flat surfaces beneath the wall before spraying. Otherwise there will be a further cleaning chore to do!
For £15 or more per can, I certainly expected it to be a lot easier to use and have a lot more coverage. Unfortunately, there doesn\'t appear to be any other spray products on the market for this specific application.
A product that you could paint on with a brush or spatula, would be more convenient in my opinion.
