The SM7B dynamic microphone has a smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response appropriate for music and speech in all professional audio applications. It features excellent shielding against electromagnetic hum generated by computer monitors, neon lights, and other electrical devices. The SM7B has been updated from earlier models with an improved bracket design that offers greater stability. In addition to it's standard windscreen, it also includes the A7WS windscreen for close-talk applications.

SM7B Includes foam winscreen, close-talk windscreen, locking yoke mount.

Internal "air suspension" shock isolation virtually eliminates mechanical noise transmission
Highly effective pop filter eliminates need for any add-on protection against explosive breath sounds, even for close-up vocals or narration
Now shipping with the A7WS detachable windscreen, designed to reduce plosive sounds and gives a warmer tone for close-talk vocals
Yoke mounting with captive stand nut for easy mounting and dismounting provides precise control of microphone position
Classic cardioid polar pattern, uniform with frequency and symmetrical about axis, to provide maximum rejection and minimum coloration of off-axis sound
Rugged construction and excellent cartridge protection for outstanding reliability

Best Kept Secret

This Mic is amazing and the best kept secret, there are alot of people using this that you don't know about.
Springsteens Magic was recorded with this for vocals, which is not surprising as Brendan O'Brien his engineer introduced this to the boss as he did to Pearl Jam who also use it.
The Wilco album Being There features this mic in the cd cover photos.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers use it, as do Metallica as does Chris Cornell.
Best Mic I've ever bought I imported from the U.S.A but with import duty / customs charges and UPS shipping it works out at more than this Dolphin price, I'd say buy it from Dolphin - this is a great company and the stock is always brand new unlike some compnies .... turnkey, dv247 etc.

There is more reason to buy this mic than there is to buy an SM57 (which everyone should have one of). Despite the recommendation that this is a voice over mic, it's uses are wide reaching and use as a vocal mic for singing in to is probably it's next best aspect than for radio broadcasts.

Uk pricing is outrageous though so buy from the states where the microphone can be bought online and imported for around £200 inc.

If your looking for a general vocal mic for either the studio or live work and you feel you need a large diaphragm condenser then the performance of this mic will probably change your mind. Considering when Michael Jackson's Thriller album was made, there would have been a budget for any mic Michael would have suited best. They reportedly chose the Sm7 for the whole album.
