Ibanez MTM2
I\'ve just bought one of these as a back-up guitar (main guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Studio).
I tried a number of other guitars for around the same price range (Indie, Jackson, PRS) and the MTM2 blew them all away. Having used it for a couple of weeks now I have to say the Gibson is sitting gathering dust. I love the way it plays and sounds. I tuned it to standard tuning (Factory default I believe is Drop D or some other slipknot tuning), no additional set-up was required although I do have a flat spot on one fret which I need to look at.. possibly just needs the bridge or truss rod adjusting to make up for the lighter guage strings.
I did have one issue with the string earth not being connected, but a quick dab of solder soon sorted that out.
The V7 and V8 pickups sound great running through my JCM800 and my Pod X3, I\'ve read reviews which slated these PUP\'s, but I can get a great metal tone and good clear tones with out spending hours tweaking settings.
The fixed bridge and locking nut keeps the guitar in tune well, even when it\'s slung in and out of the cheap guitar bag that I got with it.
Built quality seems to be very good, no blemishes or cracks in the paint work.
In fact I can\'t fault this Guitar for the price... I\'m sure I will use this more than the Les Paul it\'s that good

This guitar is awesome! I love the look of it, it screams metal and gives you real presences on stage, even in comparison to my ML\'s. The Edge 3 bridge is amazing, easy to tune and stays in tune. The pickups are really cool and give you plenty of low end chug and great tone for leads. For a bolt on neck this guitar gives great sustain, thats mainly due to the bridge. The only thing I would change is the bolt on neck if it was set neck it would unstopable. If you are looking for a guitar to play metal and dont want to spend a bucket load of money, look no further. I cant recommend it enough.
Ibanez Mick Thomson MTM2
First of all just to say this is a very good solid guitar.
It has very good sustain, and the pickups seem very well suited for all types of music.
It feels very solid and well made when you're playing it and the fingerboard is perfect.
And whats more its Mick Thomsons signature guitar which gives it even more desierability!
Has a very nice shape and looks great too!
Really nice guitar, would recommend it to anyone.
