Ibanez RGR321EX - Black Reviews

8/10

Tasty axe!

This is definitely one guitar for the budget buyer - but that doesn't mean that Ibanez have compromised on it (as if they ever do!).
Had mine for two weeks now and have subjected it to some pretty heavy beatings and its still playing as well as the day I got it.
The pickups, as it says are designed by EMG, which I’ll admit sounds like a bit of a ploy to pass them off as being fully fledged EMGs, but they do give a better response and range of tone than the ibz usual stock pups. That did surprise me as well, the versatility of the guitar, unquestionably it looks ready for metal, but given a bit of tinkering you can get almost anything out of it - but the 321exs forte is definitely in the heavier end of the musical spectrum.
I would comment on the action and the neck, but I think it’s generally standard with RGs that you're going to get low action and fast play!

There are of course going to be down sides - for the price you aren’t going to get the tremolo, which would be a tasty little extra, but I think it’s another £60 for the standard tremolo version, so if you can play without then this is an ideal model.
And finally the guitars greatest downfall-the finish. Black is notorious for showing scratches like a fire in a field, and on top of that the highly polished finish adds the extra bother of finger marks and dust showing up each and every time you play.
Simple solution to that though, make sure you buy a good case for when it’s not being played (I believe the Ibanez m100c fits), and get some decent cleaning products - i'm using the fender set and it works a treat!

But overall, the guitar might not satisfy the most experienced players but if your intermediate or beginner and want a good looking, good playing versatile guitar, this one will more than do!

Price Matching

Dolphin Music brings you the best music gear at the best price. We are committed to superior customer service and have extensive product knowledge. However, in today’s market we may not always be aware of all the price fluctuations of the products we sell. So, we offer competitive price matching.

Please fill in the following form to request a price match.

What prices we will match?

We will compare prices for new, direct from manufacturer items, excluding any add-ons, options, or other special features which may affect price.

The item must be new and must be the exact same make and model (ie, the same size, version, etc.).

Since our postage charges are lower than most of the shops, the comparison price must be a "delivered cost" to the consumer.

If we are unable to verify the previous condition, we will notify you that we require additional information to verify the Price Match request. Our goal is to make this policy simple and hassle-free. We are committed to responding to your requests quickly.

The price you have found must be the Internet Retailer's regular, advertised price for a current and available item. The price you found cannot be a closeout, discontinued, blemished, year-end, inventory reduction, or any other type of advertised sale price.

Price Matching requests may not be combined with any other promotional discounts, specials or other price incentives.

Prices and price sources you have found which do not meet the above criteria or in which incomplete or inaccurate information is provided to us, will not be approved for our Price Match.
