Alpha Studio

The Alpha™ Desktop Recording Studio is extremely compact, yet it gives you the features needed to get professional recording results anywhere! Designed with many of the same features found in professional studios, Alpha Studio is your complete recording solution: a USB powered I/O mixer with Cubase® LE, the popular recording production suite from Steinberg®, and our acclaimed Lexicon® Pantheon™ VST® reverb plug-in. A dual-input, 2-bus, 2-output USB I/O mixer with extra high-impedance instrument input and separate headphone output gives you the freedom to not only record but also mix anywhere.

Four Inputs: Record Up To Two Tracks At Once!

Stereo line inputs for keyboards, drum machines or analog output of a CD/MP3 player. RF-filtered TRS active-balanced inputs accept either balanced or unbalanced signals.

Low-noise mic preamp with balanced XLR inputs.

High-impedance front panel input for electric guitar or bass.

Professional Mixer Features

Separate mic and line level input controls with individual peak indicators.

Monitor mix control for balancing an audio source between live input and playback mix level while recording. Can be switched to stereo or mono.

Lexicon Alpha Studio

This seemed like it would do exactly what I wanted but sadly, it will not work with Vista 64 bit OS. After researching this on the web, I am clearly not the only person discovering this after purchasing the Lexicon. I spent ages trying to get some drivers to solve the problem but nothing has been made. I am not impressed at all with this although the guys at Dolphin were great and took the unit back without any complaints and recommended a machine that might do the job better. Thanks for that.

Sound quality very good.This unit works every time for me.I use a dual core pc with xp and record tracks with a DAW in conjuction with a Line 6 Toneport.Cannot understand any problems people may have with it.I am no technophobe but reading the instructions/forums.Though so far i havent sussed out with moitoring audio with vst fx yet but thats my fault)thus the 8 stars not 10).A very good unit for the money.

NOT COMPATIBLE

Does not work with my VCI 100, I cannot use it to cue a track with the headphones, poor piece of equipment.

Think twice before buying

I bought one of these about nine months ago along with an M-Audio Oxygen V2. Great I thought, I just turned my mac into an entry level DAW for a little over £100! In a way I did but unfortunately this unit makes a ton of noise on one or two track recording. Most of the time it wont even turn on and you have to faff about repeatedly un-plugging and plugging in the unit to get it to work.

I started out using the unit for both in and out, I stopped doing that after it decided not to play back the track I was making and instead made the kind of racket Thurston Moore would be proud of.

Anyway, just don\'t buy one of these. They\'re crap.
